Everton and Martinez are to blame should Lukaku leave

The one thing in my mind that he has given me as a blue mate is the feeling that we "can" beat anyone on our day for all his many misgivings, with all of Moyes attributes I never really had that feeling.

Very true, Dario.

That is what is so sad about this.

We aren't all that far away.....just a bit more defensive nous is required.

Sadly, Bobby seems further away from that than ever :(

I feel we've actually regressed in that department though. The team exudes no confidence, even when in front. We seem to be so fragile mentally compared to two seasons ago, something aint right in the camp.

Exactly.

Posters want lukaku to be given a new contracr as he can do no wrong yet wont give Martinez the summer to rebuild and until xmas in the league....

All very bizarre....2 semi finals and mid table.....apparently thats unheard of.

Lukaku's improving, but the team, measured on league performances, isn't. In general, the overall performance of the team is related to how well the manager and his coaching team are managing their resources.

If I have two things under my control, one of which is both performing to a high well and improving and the other isn't, then I'm always inclined to favour the one which is performing.

Which Everton players can play with Barcelona skill and comfort on the ball?

All of these.

There isn't a lot I can argue with there. I totally appreciate and understand those who share your views.

The only thing I don't understand totally is the assertion that the only way we can progress is to bin him.

I believe with proper investment (which we now have), Martinez has the abilities to build a side which play expressive, dynamic football which will get us challenging consistently.

Its now over to him to prove me right (or wrong).

I can see where you are coming from mate and yes it is in his hands but therein lies the difficulty. In your other post you talked of allowing until Xmas. You also mentioned his "rebuilding" programme, a project of upto 5 years of which 3 have passed apart from a few games. The problem with his project is that if we fail to retain certain players - Rom, Ross, John then it will be like starting all over again from ground zero. If that were to happen is waiting until Xmas realistic to make a judgement on his performance.

As for how you say proper investment, not sure how much funds will be available or if RM can be allowed to spend that.

For me I have just not seen any evidence that RM has it in him to take this club upwards unlike you. I am not convinced he has the ability to which you refer and if you are talking of allowing until Xmas then it must be that you are not 100% sure either so some doubt must exist in your mind.

I don't think its as clear cut as some think. I highly doubt Martinez staying or going as much of an effect on Rom leaving this summer. A new manager isn't going to put us in next year's CL which is what Rom wants. The only things affecting if he leaves this summer are which clubs are interested in him, if they'll offer enough money for us to accept, and if Rom agitates

Shhhhh! That doesn't fit the storyline the lynch mob need.

Maybe if we had a decent Manager we might be sitting in 4th rather than 12th.

The lynch mob dont need to make up lies.
The lynch mob are fuelled by home PL form only. How could that not be the case when away form is one of the PL's best and we progressed as well as we have in both cups.

I'd say they most certainly do have to make up their storyline to justify the witch hunt.

This is just pure hysteria being whipped up by certain posters who feel they need to strike while the iron's hot to get shut of this manager. Pure opportunism that will hopefully be rewarded by a kick in the balls to their plans.
