Yeah we are clearly going down the right path, all we need now is a board full of billionares, a few titles challenges, Champions League football for 10 years and to Move Bellfield and Goodison to London so we can sell it for the 000s of Millions that Arse sold Highbury.

Arsenal built their stadium before any billionaires came on board! But your right tropheys and Cl football would help - i dont think thats unrealistic. The London issue i mentioned just in terms of market which with a greater demographic mean they can cater for a bigger market, in terms of cost it mightend have as much relativitly in terms of sale and purchase.

Something more along the lines of Newcastle and Spurs plan maybe more applicable to us.

Arse have always had fairly rich owners, I agree that since the stadia they have got more billionares, but they where never short of a few bob.

I dont really think Newcastle is the way to go, do you? :D

And Spurs are bankrolled heavily.

Not really mate, in terms of owners ploughing money into the club their not that different from Everton, they actually have the most similar structure of share ownership to Everton probably in the league. What you have now is a situation where the traditional shareowners are letting go their shareholding slowly at a massive premimium - because of their sustained progress. Pretty much anything Arsenal have spent has been self genertaed, - Wenger has by far the biggest sale for spend record in the Prem - coming in at a mega surplus.

St James park, creates a massive amount of revenue - how Newcastle have wasted it is a different story but the stadium is far more profitable out there. Spurs are pretty much self sufficent now, there posting massive self generted figures. They did get a bit of a push start from Enic is covering debt opening lines of credit and investment but nto a huge amount in coparabitable terms - their an extreamely well run buissness, probably just behind Arsenal.

Arsenal werent a bigger club then us when Wenger took over - everything is relative to success - we dont need as big a stadium due to the differences between London and Liverpool, but we should be aiming for 60.000 IMO or at least a stadium that can be expanded to such.

I take your point on affordability though, i wouldnt mind taking on huge debt for something as definite as a stadium though provided there was a decent loan plan like at the Emirites.
They were bigger than us, they were quite successful in Graham era, both in domestic and european competition. They were also able to spend decent amount of money.

I also hope that we will never follow Arsenal way - stealing players from foreign countries using transfer system loopholes, getting rid of english players, etc...
I now I will be in minority but I will always prefer Chelsea and Manchester City way - spending big, at least they are allowing other clubs to function properly, paying for their players. Not stealing their talent, it's disgusting...

Also, this article looks legitimate... but I have my doubts, seeing Stoke there (there was plenty of articles about how in good shape they are, they are basically debt free) and not seeing West Ham there, where situation is really, really difficult...

The Graham era followed on the back of our success in the 80s, while when Wenger took over we had just won the FA Cup followed by our best finish in the league in beards under Royle the following season.

Wenger went bargain shopping initaly and it won him a tiltle - CL etc - Viera, Peitit, Anelka all added to Wirght, Admas, Bould, Dixion, Witerburn and Seaman.

I dont think traditionaly Arsenal have been bigger spenders then Everton. More right place, right time and a genius of a manager.
