Here's the big problem - this is a comment on the Sky Sports story on the website:

Very appreciative of the hard-work and commitment that Bill has put in over the years. It infuriates me when other Evertonian's demand to know who he has spoken to, how much he values the club at...etc. Would you tell a stranger how much your business was valued at to a complete stranger? The man himself is the first to come out and admit he can't compete financially with other clubs, and is looking for new investment. I really believe that he has the club's best interest at heart, and wouldn't sell to just anyone.

That comment has 103 "Likes" compared to 14 "Dislikes", despite the fact it is complete nonsense and fails to address any key issue whatsoever.

Therein lies the problem; the vast majority of Evertonians have not yet seen this charlatan for what he is. Therefore, we will always see the "CLAP CLAP CLAP" brigade inside Goodison every game - all he has to do is keep on smiling, trot out a "Boy's Pen" soundbyte every few months and everything is rosy for Bill.

It will take a bad season for people to turn on him - it might even take relegation, and as good as everything on the pitch is as of this moment, we're still in bad, bad trouble in the long term, and it's because the fraudster (as well as the bunch of t*ts we call a boardroom) we have running the club is looking for the big score rather than looking out for the interests of the club.

People trying to persuade this 'clap clap clap' brigade by insulting them and making up figures as facts and then trying to crucify the board, calling them greedy etc, based on these ficticious or unproven information isn't helping.

Herein lies part of the problem.

The mis-management of the club is never allowed to be put under serious scrutiny as Bill and his cronies have endured that they are untouchable.

This is why people speculate and question their motives and intentions.

Do you not find that a tad suspicious by any chance?

No they haven't though have they?

They have to operate within the same legal framework that every other business in the country does, they have to file accounts, they have to obey the law.

Some of the **** thrown in their direction & intimation of wrong doing, is totally unfounded bollocks, that is nothing more than mischief making libel.

Some of those 'speculating' should wind their necks in, as they're not doing the lobby for change any favours whatsoever imo.

I'm not insulting them; it's what they do. I've been many a game and seen it - it's the only way to describe the phenomenon.

And there's certain things that aren't speculation - the fact there's been little to no personal investment in the club since Kenwright took over. That's a fact. The cancellation of AGMs to avoid scrutiny from the fans. Another fact. The failure to sell the club despite numerous takeovers taking place in the interim. Another fact. Messing up projects repeatedly, like DK, KD and the annex. Very much a fact.

As for the valuation, that's came from various people, but Forbes valued the club at under £150m at most in 2012, so it's very easy to imagine Bill Kenwright plopping another £50m on top of that. It's very, very clear that he's looking for the big sell - I don't blame him as a businessman, but it's the way he's being disingenuous that bugs me.

.

I can only remember it happening once, on the day of the BU march I think - Villa at home?

I remember being surprised by it, but I think it was more of a statement against the ideals of the BU, than it was an endorsement of Kenwright.

I've seen it a few other times; it's whenever the Sky feed falls on Kenwright's face briefly on the big screen before they block it out. It's like watching a bunch of trained seals.

No offence to them though, I understand why they like Bill. I wish I could; I'd love nothing more than to have a competent owner who was an Evertonian. But Bill ain't competent.

And to be clear, I'm not a Blue Union supporter. I think they're complete amateurs. But that doesn't mean I support Kenwright. You don't have to belong to one camp or the other.

I'm the same & tbh I think that's where the majority view is.

Turning this into a bum fight, as usual. Nothing new here.

Same old content.

IF kenright had come out a few years back and said, the next few seasons there wont be much to spend but we will be looking to resolve the clubs debts so our long term future looks healthy there wouldn't be a problem, the problem is nothing has been done to increase turnover and reduce the debts.

theres no long term plan what so ever, its been a case of simply paying the bills at the end of the season, and any money left over from player sales to cover losses which isnt good enough.

This is exactly the point.. why make things up when there is so much to hang him on that doesn't need it?

"easy to imagine Bill plopping another £50mil on top of that. It's very, very clear that he's looking for the big sell - I don't blame him as a businessman"...

This is what I am referring to by the way.. In a statement about not making things up you make something up albeit with the imagine caviat this time as a get out clause.. (easy to imagine Bill plopping another £50mil on top of that), then you point out something unproven as clearly fact (Very, very clear that he's looking for a big sell) and go so far as to pretend to forgive him for it.. which is generous of you.

Your earlier paragraph however....

Is what the arguments should be. This is fact. This is what should be hanging the board but its lost in this murky grey mess of blx the anti's keep spouting, unimgainatively recycled until people believe its the truth with substance, as opposed to reality which is that its either a stumbled upon truth without evidence or simply a mistruth.

As for the clapping, I've only witnessed it the once but if you seen it, you've seen it, can't explain that, only guess is that the fans are clapping the progress the team has made since the current board took over.. which is massive by the way.

Not wrong. I think if they didn't bother giving us the money that has dragged us down here though.. i.e no Jelavic, Gibson, Mirallas, Naismith, Pienaar etc they would have just as much anger against them for that.
We are where we are because we spend on wages for players we want to keep unfortunately. We need to start trimming off the big earners, sell up or finish in the CL anything else is going to start resulting in a major culling soon I think.

Easy to see where this is ending up. We either qualify for CL and keep our main players for a bit longer, or we continue with our policy of selling a player for £10m+ every season to keep us going. With the later, a season will come when we have no one else to sell, we could end up in the lower half, then we're in big trouble.

Basically we could end up where we were before the board came but with massive debts.. Yay.
Board out.. unnamed imaginary rich person in!

not sure we did ourselves any favours releasing the figures at the start of the month, I realise that there must be some obligation to do so but now other clubs have seen that we are still losing money and may be tempted to try and knick our players and if someone came in with a stupid offer it still looks like we wont have much choice whether to sell or not regardless of how detrimental it would be to the football club
