I think we need to get away from the notion that Sky money is a panacea. If you look at our wages as a percentage of turnover figure, it is rising year on year, despite turnover largely rising.
In other words wages are rising faster than turnover is, despite things like Sky income going up hugely over the past decade.
All of which largely means that most Sky money goes directly into players pockets.
Does it take into account getting big earners like Arteta and Yakubu off the bill?
Yes. Wages rose by around £5.5 million.
Can somebody clarify what period these accounts are for?
I was under the impression that they relate to the period before we sold Arteta and Yakubu etc?
