Of course it was unfortunate for Oldham. But it wasnt for us.

it meant unfortunate for everyone because they'd decided that everyone wanted oldham to win. Just like in the league cup final when swansea went 2-0 up and the commenator said "unfortunately, this is going the way many thought". These people are suppose to call things down the centre ffs

We're British, we always root for the underdog. If it was a Utd v Everton most the whole country would be rooting for us.

We have a few players just not in decent form at the minute, Osman,Pienaar and Jelavic especially, and with our small squad we are going to suffer if it continues, because these players will continue to be used regardless of their form.

I'm starting to worry that its more of an ability issue with Jelavic rather than form or confidence.

We got the job done last night, but it was by no means impressive, Distin should be embarassed watching their goal back.

And therein lies the crux of the problem, osman and pienaar have probably played every minute of the last 5 games for example (450 mins) and have been largely ineffective in all of them..................how much worse off in terms of performance would we have been if we'd given the likes of Barkley and Oviedo even 100 of those minutes gametime?? I guess we'll never know

It's the most tired pun on here but annoyingly I never tire of it mate. Apologies.
You'll like this ... I was reading this thread backwards starting on the last page and then went back two or three pages to catch everyone's wrap up thoughts. So I saw this post, I knew exactly what you'd done, and yet I *still* clicked on the link when I got back to that page and still said "oh FFS" because I'd forgotten not to click on your link.

Plus now it's early in the day and I'm all worked up from that hot cock action.

I always had belief in him but I am sad to say that that is no longer the case. How often have we seen him either fall over himself when he looks like he's through on goal. His touch is gone, He work rate is good but he was bought for one thing, to put the ball in the back of the net and he looks incapable of doing that against lower league teams, never mind top quality defences.
I really do hope he proves me wrong

he has scored 1 in 14, our delivery isn't that bad, and while we're on the subject of could have and should have's, he missed an easy one on one in the first game to put the tie to bed, no excuse for missing that one

Fair enough that hes had a bad season, but he was involved in almost everything Everton created yesterday.

Whats the point of taking things out of context?

Neville had a decent game, as did Distin bar the Oldham goal.

Jelavic had a mare.

how people see the game different, I thought Distan gave the ball away every time he touched it,with his head or feet and Neville just got in the way and slowed everything down.

Jelavic tried hard buts looks a shadow of himself from last year.

......concern for me is that we haven't got the spark of a month or so ago. We have possesion but no real threat. I just wonder if we will reignite in a game against a more fancied team.
On the plus side Mirallas looks to be regaining form. I also thought Distan played well, key is his defending as opposed to distribution. Our season is still alive.

Congrats on your fully deserved win, hope you go on and win the cup now, thanks for your friendly welcome at gp, despite the result we had a great time knowing that the cup run has secured our future a little while longer. I would also like to pass on our condolences from all at oafc to the family of the toffees fan who sadly passed away, now go win the cup for him lads!!!! All the best for the future, take care.

There's a reason GOT was voted as the top premiership forum last year, i honestly believe the animal porn is a huge factor in the judges score chart. If we were Totenham fans that that bird on their badge would be getting walloped by a confused labrador no mistake.

Thank goodness we won despite a lackluster passing effort in some chunks of the game. Onwards, upwards, good. Really wishing Jelavic could just score one so he doesn't look like mopey mcmoperson upfront.

Distin defended well but for the goal but its them lapses that have been costing us in the prem game's, distribution has not been the best from the CB's all season but they all seem to be trying to switch play all the time. It only seems like Gibson wants to come and take the ball and start the passing game, Neville to me looks like he worries when he is on the ball and Osman seems to be only lasting to about 70 mins then he fades out the game. Osman & Neville need a rest IMO. For 1 game I would like to see SP of the striker with a midfield of Oviedo, Fellaini, Gibson and Mirallas.
