So, that's that then. Interested to hear what your thoughts are, it ended on a high note and one place higher than last year but no Europe a bit of a disappointment.

Moyes & the players deserve a lot of credit for rescuing the season once again. We were absolute sh*te up until February.

On a related note, Bolton finished 14th, mad.

I hope more faith is shown in Beckford next season. It's a real shame how little he's played in the last month or so.

This isn't just knee-jerk to his surreal wonder-goal today either, I've been championing him since about December.

Coyle in.

7th, it's the position you kind of think is ok/good for a team with no money, but nowhere near where we all think we should be finishing. Not good enough for Everton, we finished 4 points behind Liverpool, wonder how many it will be next year

Only money spent on a few fresh new faces and some better tactics will improve us next year, so here's to it!

Not a classic

Great job to rescue our season but I want to push on now, fed up of not taking advantage of the team we have but with a couple of new players we could really do a job in this league.

Side note - No prem football for a couple months what the feck am I going to do with myself!

  • Baines is ridiculously good at everything. Except facial hair
  • Distin is le sex, and I want to touch his bum
  • Moyes never learns anything
  • We're a great team when we actually play positively, and respect ourselves more than our opposition
  • The pink kit was truly horrifying
  • But the vanilla kit was gorgeous
  • Beckford actually made the step up. 2 steps, in fact
  • We need a lot of new blood this summer. Not "could do with" or "could use". We need
  • Osman is the Scouse Messi

We only lost one more game than the Runners-up Chelsea (unbeliveable really??) - so if we can turn some of those numerous draws into wins next term - who knows.....

Tho I doubt there will be a premiership season of such universal inconsistency from all teams involved ever again ????

I came over for the West Brom game and where we were pitiful and I thought we heading back to the dark ages of the Seventies. But again we rescued it in a pretty spectacular fashion, so praise is due, especially to Tony Hibbert and Leon Osman.

Even though he was never one of my favourites, we missed Pienaar massively. Baines is a shadow of the player he could be with someone decent ahead of him. (And that's despite his perfomances this season.) I worry about too many of our players getting too old and worry about the younger ones coming through. Here's hoping Arteta doesn't complete his transformation into a crab (sideways, backwards, although today was a good sign) and Cahill and Neville have a few good seasons left in them.

Time to look at the newer "young ones" coming through. Anichebe was put in the shop window, imo, at the end of the season and Vaughan looks to be anyway on the way out. Baxter, who knows?

Highest points - beating City and the ****e.

Lowest points - going out of the cup to Reading, losing 4-1 to West Brom, the performance against Bolton away from home.

We all hoped for more but I think we have done ok overall. I hope Moyes stays and that we can hold on to Baines and Fellaini. If we sell Rodwell for around £20 million and bring in 3 players, well we'll have another go next season. If we can have a good start who knows.

Baines hasn't missed a beat since Pienaar went, Osman has had a better four month spell than Pienaar ever had, and our form improved massively after his departure.

Pienaar was great for us and I don't doubt we'll miss him over the course of a whole season if he's not replaced, but his leaving had no evident negative effect on us this year.
