Really? I thought the atmosphere was terrible again. It's a massive concern for how bad the crowd is with the new stadium in mind.

The atmosphere was mostly brilliant yesterday. However, I agree that when the atmosphere is dire (which has been an all too common occurrence in the last 30 years!) it does affect the players.

No violence, no theft, no vandalism or general destruction, no nothing. Implacable behaviour. Yet nothing will be made of that. Nobody will point to the obvious fact that so many people fans together, self-policing and without endless issues is only possible football wise in this city when we do it.

The 1878 announced before the Ipswich game that their last display would be for that match. I'd imagine it wasnt done for today so fan's views wouldn't be obstructed or blocked by flags or banners

My guess was they wanted to enjoy the occasion themselves.

I was worried the emotion would get to the players and fans too much but it was a very professional performance and fitting way to send Goodison off with our current star man getting the goals.
