If we're to have a more relaxed season regarding relegation than we've had the last few years, the type of season the Moyes fans tell me to expect, then we have to win against Fulham. Lose and we're pretty much exactly where we always are with more than a quarter of the season gone.
I fancied us to get a result against Spurs and I was horribly wrong. I hope we see a better performance, and result, this weekend.
Even then there is no guarantee. This game and actually predicting a win reminds me of that game Lampard won 3-0 v Palace around this time in October 2022. I think that was the final match he won. It was a very good performance on the day but deceiving and really no good if you then have a terrible run through November and December which is a possibility based on the fixtures in those months.
Not win tomorrow and team will barely be doing better than a point per game which is very disappointing based on the optimism of the first month and now reality is slowly sinking in.
I think tomorrow is one where Fulham will dominate possession but they won't create too many serious chances and it will get settled by a set play. Fancy J O'B to score the winner as nothing wrong with what he did for the Spurs disallowed goal.
