The young lads did well last night but in fairness I have to say I do not think they would have scored. For many it is early days fo the players out there can I say Yak was the least impressive. For his experience he should have been involved more but he just seemed to be going through the motions.

As to match I was undecided between Hibbert and Duffy for mom. Hibbert seemed to be very solid in this role againmst Bate.

Of the young players Duffy impressed but even if we are without Yobo or Distin I do not think Moyes will give him a chance while we have Neill, Hetty and Hibbert available. IMO Duffy could be tried more now.

Same for Coleman, this lad reminds me of Tommy Wright and Mick Meagan in his play. For me he is also ready now.

For his age Bidwelll looked good just needs a bit more coaching and experience but IMO if Baines has any problems looks like we have a LB available.

As for Baxter, Agard and Forshaw I think they have a bit more to do, Forshaw to me seemed to be a bit like another Osman!

The others clearly need a good deal more time before they can think of stepping up and becoming established.

Thanks mate.

0-1. If you never watched (and I wouldn't blame you, it was the worst match I've ever seen) we put out our under 14 side. They were unlucky an' all. Still, these are the things you can do when you have the luxury of being in the next round of a European competition...all these trophies to compete for, squad needs a rest (y)

I thought Baxter was brainless last night, but there you go.

That freekick...good lord.

Agreed 3N's but then again they were kids and they will mature unlike Brum players who are past it when they sign them and go straight to the knackers yard when they leave

After thinking about it, I reckon the majority of them were just trying a little too hard to impress and it backfired a bit. The lads weren't really clicking much, especially going forward.

Having said that, I was really pleased with their commitment and heart, they showed more of it than the first team have for the majority of the season. It will only get better for some of them in time.

It was good to see the kids and it was good for them to get experience. I personally would have rested rodwell and i wish i'd worn more layers, definately the coldest game i've ever been to!
