quite honestly... DCL looked quite good for that game. but one missed kick and that's it. that's his main, number 1 job as a ST, and even playing out of position: he should score that.

if you can't be trusted to score that open of a goal... maybe he needs a loan spell out. honestly, in the championship or lower leagues, I could see him getting 15+ goals in a season, and getting his confidence in front of goal up.

until that time... I don't know how he fits into the team. he's only competent in the position up top... his game lacks wide play and for all of his hard work he often looks lost in the midfield.

I don't know. I hope it works out for him, but he's not there yet

Bainesy proved he's still the best LB in the PL and I like the cut of DCL's jib. If he can add finishing to his game I think we have a young Harry Kane on our hands. Capt Jags provides leadership like no other and Tom Davies and Gana would walk into half the PL teams. Rooney again showed that he, along with Ronaldo and Messi, is absolutely world class.
Made up with a draw, I thought we were in for a tonking against a team that , in Salah, Firminho and Mane, have an attacking threat to beat anybody. That we kept them scoreless is a tribute to the development of young Keane in particular. I think he'll start for the mighty Three Lions in Russia.
All in all, a great derby; full of passion, intensity and quality. I think those who say Everton has become a team of irrelevance will have to recalibrate their thinking. Never have I been more proud of our brave, brave lads.

*disclaimer : I didn't watch one second of the game.

Not much in though DCL is 21 Kane is 24

It was a very disciplined performance. The individuals were well drilled and kept their positions very well when Liverpool were in possession.

But I'm not sure why anyone would want to take flying wingers like Bolasie and Walcott and turn them into adequate midfield markers. Surely we should be taking advantage of their attacking talents.

It took 75 minutes to discover that this was the Liverpool B team and that there was no reason to be in awe of them. All the same, we were indebted - as usual - to Pickford and his great reactions.

Save us - please - from another season of this tedium.

Surprisingly I was debating who should have been my MotM. The harsh truth is that we had a clean sheet, and that is MUCH better than most would have anticipated. it was also utter crap for 80 minutes, so that leads me to either Morgs or Gana... Pickford a shout with the early saves as well.

Had Gana been fit to play 70-80 minutes, we may have been able to get in on goal a few more times (he lead us in tackles I believe and only on for a fraction of the time.) Morgs for me as it was a VAST improvement. More of that, please.

Folks, I've re-stickied this as the Poll is still open and people are still voting, but if you haven't cast your vote, please do so before 5pm Friday. ;)

Just checking there team last night, to the one that started the derby, and 6 of last nights starters, started the derby,i was under the impression from them that every single player that played saturday v us, was not a 1st team player with the way they have gone on lol,

But the way we started, you'd have thought they were all first team players!

In fact, half of their outfield players were reserves.
