Don't believe for a second he tried to buy Gerrard, probably trying to undermine him by suggesting that. Why would Gerrard join UTD. No disrespect mind, but he has stayed loyal to Liverpool for his career to suggest he tried to buy him is probably contrary to Gerrards loyalty.

End of the day - who's arsed.
 

He'll stop doing interviews soon as Journo's will go for his throat, no longer is there the threat of not getting access to Utd, does he mention anything about coming to Goodison the Saturday after the Original 'Welcome to Hell' I had him over a barrel outside the players entrance, by the time I got up to the top balc though you had scored, I walked in to see Lee Sharpe doing Elvis with the flag, you then shut up shop depriving me of actually seeing a football match take place.

I agree with most of that mate, pretty sure Fergie knew he wouldn't land Gerrard but I don't believe for a second Gerrard has stayed at Liverpool for his entire career by way of loyalty - not in the same way Giggs stayed at United.

Fear of backlash from their bonkers supporters kept him there and I think the bulls**t about Bayern coming in for him (and him turning them down?!) last season was just a ploy to make him look like he's Liverpool through and through when in actual fact he's no better than Suarez, only Suarez has the balls to go through with leaving.

Brenda would have happily shipped out Gerrard's salary if someone was interested. For someone who is Liverpool through and through he sure seemed like he wanted to go to Chelsea a few years back.
 

I suppose he had to write a book once he retired, otherwise there would have been a dozen unofficial versions in the making citing 'inside sources'.
