Europa Cup = Domestic Burn Out?

Nah, I love watching us take on (get spanked by) boss Euro teams.

Well Sporting just tonked Porto who unlike the Redshite went through in the Champions League and beat Arsenal at home 2-1...

And when I say tonked I say 3-0 all shots in and around the box...

So looks like we hit Sporting just as they were turning

Frankly, with the disparity between what you can earn in the CL vs. Europa not to mention the prestige, I believe the Europa Cup just isn't worth the headache.

Potential injuries, more taxing on the players, effect on Premier League campaign.

I'd rather they just skip out on the Europa Cup altogether.

Quick...who were Europa Cup Champions back in '03?

Exactly.

Exactly.

Trouble is they didn't just repackage it and slightly increase the money...

they also increased the number of games.......

And still gave Champions League drop outs a second bite.

I'm sure UEFA just don't think about what they're doing!

How they've structured European competition is a joke.

You ain't wrong... I never noticed...

Infact I was trying to remember who won the Champions League in 03... without success. Ajax?

AC Milan beat Juventus of Turin on PK after a 0-0 after extra time.

I think it was at Wembley of all places, I know the year before was at Hampden Park.

And I didn't need reference to know that.

I could name off any european cup winner, runner up, and maybe scorers and venue of any year since it's inception in 1956, and most likely be correct.

Not being big headed here, I'm just something I've learnt or remembered.
