I understand this game just fine.

I have very strong disagreements with a lot of you about the broader strategy of what Southgate should be doing, given the chess pieces he has. It's not even that I dislike playing for 1-0 to the Arsenal. I just don't like it at all against opponents where you don't have to.

Southgate, IMO, is playing Carlo-ball when he has City-level attacking talent. This is not a good plan, unless you're playing against a top-tier team and you need to be more conservative as a result. You wouldn't see Pep do it. I don't see why you would defend it when Southgate does it.
