Euro 2020 postponed

If you take bias out of it, voiding a cancelled season makes most sense.
Would you say that if Everton were 25 points clear at the top of the table or if we'd already won the league Cup and that was to be included in the voided season or if we'd made it to the FA Cup final and never got the chance to play it?

You're only saying it makes the most sense because Everton don't really have anything to lose. We're mid-table mediocrity. Same as last season, same as next season.

The season would have been voided a month ago if Everton or any other club that wasn’t Liverpool or United were top of the table.

What is actually wrong with these idiots? Why is playing kick abouts deemed more important than the health and wellbeing of people? No one but the tourist/armchair Kopites, Leeds, West Brom, Fulham, Celtic, Dundee United and Cove Rangers fans are going to kick up much of a fuss if the season gets abandoned

It's not that it's more important but it is still important. It's really easy for fans to suggest voiding the season but the combined turnover of the Premier League is many billions of pounds. Do you honestly think the 20 chairmen and owners of the 20 clubs are just going to roll over and see their business ruined because a few football matches can't be played.
There are some huge decisions to be made. It's not just the outcome of this season (inc. trophies and prize money) but who plays in what competitions next season.
Promotion from the Championship to the PL is seen as the biggest prize in world football. Are Leeds and West Brom going to roll over and just give up on that?
If this season's PL is void then there is no Champions League next season as no team has qualified. Again, a competition worth billions of pounds of revenue.

So no, it's not more important than people's health but it is still very, very important to the people that look after the money side of things.

They are businesses, like other businesses they will try and make sure that they do not get hit too badly but they are in the same boat as everyone else right now.

I’ve got a few flights booked, curious to see how I’ll go about getting a refund

In all seriousness, best move. Hopefully they’ll look at sales and see that Baku isn’t feasible and hopefully sidestep and healthily compensate.

Or am I clutching at straws.

Safety first and now we get two big comps in two years. I like it.

Well thats what being objective means doesn't it? Subjectively I'd be very disappointed but objectively it would still be the most sensible approach.

And this is bad for Everton. We are in touching distance of Europe and the CL, with a favourable run in. Evertonians just have a much better sense of perspective than Liverpool though.

I've seen this issue a bit.

If Sky/BT are promising to not pay (they will) it will be because the season is cancelled, not because the season is cancelled and we don't instate an arbitrary winner.

If the seasons cancelled, they don't get the games, the moments, the viewers, the sponsors, the sign ups etc. Installing a champion will not change that.

All installing a champion would do, if open up the league to a chain of events that will lead to mass litigation.
