Just seen the full england squad for their upcoming match. I really can't believe that Wayne Bridge and Cashley occupy the left back position. OK, I'm biased, but I really think that we will see who performs better next saturday.

Full England squad:
Scott Carson (West Bromwich Albion), Robert Green (West Ham United), Paul Robinson (Blackburn Rovers)
Wayne Bridge (Manchester City), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Joleon Lescott (Everton), Gary Neville (Manchester United), John Terry (Chelsea), Matthew Upson (West Ham United)

Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), David Beckham (AC Milan loan from LA Galaxy), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Manchester City), Ashley Young (Aston Villa)
Carlton Cole (West Ham United), Peter Crouch (Portsmouth), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham Hotspur), Emile Heskey (Aston Villa), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

Just amazing...

We know who is the best left back right now for England, but says it all when the other Neville is back in the squad when he's been injured for most of the season and doesnt even get a start for united

I keep wondering what Pip Neville has to do to get a recall? This has been his most consistant season, and yet again he's been overlooked. (n)

Which are the games they have up next.

Is it Bermuda or St Kitts and Nevis or something of that level.

I don't pay much attention to the national side, not British in my defence, but at least provide some proper opposition here. :dodgy:

If the England team expects to win big next year you can't judge much from the opposition coming up.

I support Everton first and foremost, no national side, and would much rather they won than anything else.

Lol. Baines is twice the player Bridge is.

Same with Phil and brother Gary.

Still, this is how football has worked for a long time. I read this England squad, and I hear Jonathan Pearce say today that 15 Newcastle players earn more than 50 grand a week (I think out highest earners get that) and I can't help but think the two are intrinsically related, caused by the same insideous problem.

Well clearly Baines deserves a chance in the England squad...maybe he turned them down  I know I would!

Why would you want to waste your time playing alongside a bunch of overpaid, underachieving prima donnas when you're already playing for the almighty Blues!!??

Shocked by the omission...

But the fact that Neville and SWP have been included despite not playing regularly for ages pretty much says it all - it's always going to be more about how good the media makes you out to be rather than how good you actually happen to be playing.

Also, I thought Walcott was joining the U-21's for their European Championships?...
