It looks like the club have decided to knock it on its head this year. I know the consensus on this will be "who cares" but I think it's a shame.

Whatever you think of Everton's season etc - I always think there should be an event at the end of the season that fans are able to attend.The awards are a lot more than just Everton's first team, they acknowledge the youth teams, ladies teams, legends and fans. Here is EFCSA Chairman John Blain's view on the 2017 event. They're good events, they club do really well in ensuring the events make noise in the city and importantly it's a chance for the club to connect with fans.

Last year;

Tuesday 1 May will see the return of Everton’s prestigious annual End of Season Awards, ‘The Dixies’, at the iconic Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The Dixies promises to be bigger and better than ever before with almost 1,300 tickets available for Evertonians to enjoy the two-hour awards showed packed with entertainment.

To now;

The 2018-19 awards will take the form of a magazine-style show, which will be broadcast on Everton’s digital channels in May.

Fans from around the world will be able to go online to find out the winners and watch exclusive interviews.

Everton members will be able to watch The Dixies during an exclusive preview period on Friday, 10 May, before the content is made available to a wider audience via Everton’s official channels.

Not convinced on the PR angle of "more accessible" it makes me wonder the motivation behind in effect semi cancelling the event? Unless I'm reading it wrong?

If anyone is aware of any Everton events in May, please let us know!

It could be more marketing driven than PR. They move this content onto the club's digital channels because the more they grow them the better their case becomes for new sponsorship. Whereas the awards night, enjoyable as it is for the local fanbase who can attend, isn't helping to sell the idea of EFC as a club with true global reach.

You can stream live events. They've streamed previous years.

They’ve got quite a lot of grief for ‘celebrating failure’ the last couple of years so I’m not surprised to be honest.

Shame if they've responded to that.

As I said - they're about a lot more than just the first team.

....don’t feel strongly about these, but I think they have become a bit OTT in replicating an Oscars ceremony with all the trimmings.

Glad if they take the glitz and profile out and have something less-formal.

Agree - but still have an event fans can go to. Even if just like the kit launches etc they do in Camp and Furnace.

I was quite looking forward to it to be honest.

Shame.

If they want to honour the players who've done well just send Digne and his family out to the best restaurant in the North West all expenses paid.

As long as these changes mean no more opportunities for Kenwright to get up on the stage to cry his eyes out and then handing out prizes to scumbag criminals then I'm happy.

Just voted on that

Player of the season
1: Michael Keane
2: Richarlason
3: Gomes

Young player of the season
1: Richarlason
2: DCL
3: Jonjoe Kenny

Goal of the season
1: Siggurdson V Leicester
2: Richarlason V Brighton
3: Digne V Watford
