Empty seats when so many couldn't get tickets - how do we resolve this?

If You Know Your History

Player Valuation: £1m
On the face of it, an attendance of well over 48,000 for a second round match against lower league opposition is truly stupendous. It just shows what a big club we are.

Something is bugging me, though. My son couldn't get a ticket for the game. Despite this, I noticed many unoccupied seats tonight. Our great stadium holds almost 53,000 people, so what happened to those 4 or 5 thousand seats? Having large banks of unoccupied seats is not conducive to a good atmosphere at all.

How can we resolve this issue?

There`ll always be folks with the auto cup on their ST that can`t make a cup game due to the short notice between the game being announced and the fixture. There was also a whole block of seats blocked off between the away end and home section in the upper east stand which is probably going to be the same for every cup game and we`ll just have to live with it when visiting teams take the full allocation.

That'll be the bunch of displaced STHs, where the club f'd up and didn't realise there wasn't a priority window for them until, the day/evening before. Possibly part of the reason

My mate got to the turnstile yesterday and this ticket didn't work so he went the ticket office and they told him "they'd double sold this ticket" and basically went on to say whoever got in first got the seat.

Even worse they couldn't reimburse him and he'd paid 15 quid for parking as well.

Poor sod basically had to drive back his and catch second half on the telly.

Am sorry thats absolutely diabolical.

There was also 1,000 empty seats for the first game on Sunday.

That is absolutely diabolical!
Surely if they admitted that it was their mistake, the least they could do was offer a different seat? It's not like there was none available.

Nothing mate...gobsmacked when he told me.

He's a super chilled, quiet guy so he'll have made absolutely no fuss over it knowing him, While some Blues would have be screaming Bloody murder.

He got in his car an went home...felt dead sorry for him.

I watched it on the TV and I get the point about having a blocked off section between the home and away supporters, but there were other blocks that were empty as well.
My thought was that these were on Seat Unique and they had not been sold because people don't want to pay £120 for a cup game or don't know Seat Unique exists

That is disgusting,I really hope he or someone on his behalf takes it further and highlights what a disgrace this is to treat your own supporters in this way, peoples club eh?🙄

I think a mixture of seat unique and Everton trying their best to prevent fans giving their tickets to someone else. Makes no sense to me. Maybe they were worried that touts would take advantage of our first season?

I'd be emailing Dan Friedkin directly copying in Matin Lewis, The Daily Mail and Esther Rantzen.
