Employment Tribunal Claims: Tactics and Precedents: Amazon.co.uk: Naomi Cunningham, Michael Reed: Books

Its not cheap Devon but if your case has legs then it will more than pay for itself. It is aimed at community advisers, union reps etc. so its easy to understand. Check out any case law relating to your circumstances and that will give you a feel for the possibilities.

One thing you must consider; if the tribunal and all the preliminary work goes ahead, you will be the only person NOT being paid for your time and effort. Your "payment" will be a great deal of paperwork and emotional energy.

If you are representing yourself and they try to scare you off with the costs threat then add the following to your claim; that your rights to a fair trial are being violated as you cannot have costs awarded to you should you win, but can have them awarded against you if you lose. Don't seem like a level playing field to me.

Bear in mind a comment made to me by my brother in law who is a Union Rep. It should not be called employment law, it should be called employers law as it is all in their favour.

Good Luck
