Why would Bolton( higher up the table than us) swap a better player for a crap one?

This. Why would the player himself want to join us? It's not a put down on us, it's just a fact they're having a better season than us. If they make Europe, would he leave?

Bolton are exceeding expectations, whilst we're doing the opposite. We have quality players, a larger fan base than Bolton and tradition. If it was a choice between us and the RS, he probably would go to the dark side. It would surely cross his mind how much he'd be likely to feature for his new side though, and there would be more chance that he'd play regularly for us.

I'm not too fussed either way. But given that we have no money and we're in need of a centre forward, it would be remiss not to explore the option.

That was his half a season fella. before that he was a badge kissing fist waving fraud. Gave away to much cheap ball, hardly ever tracked back and when he did it normally ended in a free kick to the opposition. Carsley covered his arse so much it was unreal.

The worst the guy could do is come over here on not score any goals which would give him plenty of company.

He is a very good player, who wasn't particularly suited to a long ball football preferred by Megson. It's not like he started to put an effort, it's environment around him which makes him much more comfortable. Coyle prefers more continental style, Gary Cahill (who is a very good ball player for a CB) is back from injury, they also have a Holden and Muamba in the middle, as well as Lee out wide. All of them are players which allowed Bolton to go away from the Big Sam Legacy and that's why Elmander is doing much, much better than last season.
