One of my favourite stories about football is how, at the 2007 (IIRC) Africa Cup of Nations how the Senegalese fans who had turned up to watch their team had seen them display utter ineptitude, and therefore resolved to invade the team hotel and beat up Diouf. Sadly, wiser heads prevailed.
