Para 2.06 of the Europa Qualfication Regulations can be downloaded from this link (see the pdf)

I heard on BBC Football Focus today that eighth might be enough to get into the europa if Liverpool win the Europa this season.

The link above does not seem clear. The BBC also said eight might be enough if we get the fair play place for English teams.

Help me conclude this conundrum.

Would be great to catch the other lot though, come on West Ham. Torres out, two tough Europa games and Chelsea still to play, not impossible.

Stoke and Fulham are two tough games though!

i think I'd take a year without Europe to get our [Poor language removed] together, if it meant Liverpool not winning anything.

Titleholder
2.06 Unless the UEFA Cup titleholder qualifies for the UEFA Champions League
through its domestic championship, it is guaranteed a place in the group
stage of the UEFA Europa League. If the titleholder does qualify for the
UEFA Europa League through its domestic competitions, the number of
places to which its national association is entitled in the UEFA Europa
League does not change.
If the UEFA Cup titleholder does not qualify for
either the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League through its
domestic competitions, its participation in the UEFA Europa League is not at
the expense of the contingent of its association.

are there 2 of these threads ?
