how much?

Its quoted above....not the amount just 'the full payment for two seasons'...our deal was basically for giving their logo visibility at press conferences, after match interviews etc., so it would not have been much. Looks to me like someone at 'Power 8' had a bright idea, but subsequently couldn't find the money to carry it through. The lucky few got paid, including us. Sounds familiar........

Old news, we binned them off in August when this was discovered.

Why it needed to be 'discovered', instead of the club doing actual background checks on these people, is fodder for a whole other thread. Possibly one featuring tales of ICI and bedsits....

Did Elstone not instruct checks to be taken on this company, by a reputable UK company after he became suspicious? I'm sure I read somewhere that he did, but they came back and said it was all straight.

I seem to remember that Elstone said something about making a report in May to the NCA and was given the all clear over it.

Haha makes you laugh doesn't it.

We nearly sell the club to a man in a bedsit and sign up for jarg sponsorship deals with companies on the con.

next thing we will sell all our merchandising rights to a company who won't sell our gear in shops outside of the near city.........

I know mate, all this after instructing professional outfits to do this for us, it takes the internal team to flag up the issues. Such as it was Kenwright who figured out about the 'man in a bedsit' through his own investigation after the contact being instigated by en external company, and one of the first to suspect Power 8 was Elstone, but was given the all clear by an external body.

There are positives to the Kitbag deal, in as much as the shift of risk, but I feel that we are being treated like second class citizens by them. Much can be done better in this deal, and I think that that is the better way to approach it, for the time being at least.
