ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I said a few games ago Eggs even more telling than that was that little no mark Firminho getting picked instead of Benteke. Klopp would rather have 3 attacking midfielders upfront than a natural striker so that tells me all I need to know about what he thinks about Benteke. Wouldn't be the least surprised to see him moved out in Jan for a fee of around 16-18m if someone is willing to lump that on him.

if i was sure over his injury record i'd take him for that. They're ruining him, let's be honest. He's a very good striker, just has a few fitness issues. He's not a rodgers type striker and he's not a klopp striker. Did they seriously just buy him just so he'd stop ripping them to pieces? They sold carroll as he didn't fit the style yet bought an almost exact replica. Pure idiocy.

Aye mate, same could be said for a few of the signings. I just can't see how Firminho is worth more than 500k. Granted I never seen him play once in the Bundesliga so I'm assuming he was this all singing all dancing fusion of Messi,Suarez, Bale and Silva rolled into one to justify the 35m they spunked on him. Can you imagine if we had signed him for that and had the performances he's shat out so far, he's looked absolutely woeful and would struggle to get in a league 1 side imo.

I love it when the scruffs spend wedge on absolute crap, it's another load of ammunition to rip them to pieces on a daily basis ;)

This, really. To get the best out of Benteke they would need another fifty million to spend on actual wingers and would have to put forty to fifty million pound of attacking midfielders on the bench every week; its mental that they bought him after Carroll... and after Lambert. I like to see it as Brendan's last, greatest, gift to the world.

they spent £20m on downing, so maybe another £100m on top on wingers to make sure they get something right .... maybe.

They didn't want him signed because he was another carroll that didn't fit in with the style they played apparently. But then once he was signed he suddenly became more messi than carroll, i think some ex kopite player - possibly carragher - wrote an article saying he was more than just another carroll so of course they go with that and change their tune.

they're both better than just a target man, like ferguson, and all 3 just have poor injury records which stopped them having better careers.

According to talksport yesterday, Chelsea are after Benteke and Liverpool may be prepared to let him go for just a small dividend on there initial outlay, ie: they sell him for more than they actually paid.

Really?? Surely that's not going to happen??

weren't they harping no about only paying 15 up front and the rest being appearance and incentive based?
