Probably. Bogdan and the pitch. Nothing to do with his gegenfail hitting the buffers against a team that can bypass midfield.
Rommel he aint.
Klopp's honeymoon is now well and truly over. He has a quote at Dortmund that his philosophy was based upon dragging the opponents down to his level, then beating them.
The results against City and Chelsea reflect this. City missing Kompany, Ottamandi, Silva and only a half fit Aguero and Chelsea had players in open revolt, but they are still impressive results. However they were based upon that principle. Making it hard for better teams to play fluently. A game plan designed entirely to press and harass the opposition. Wait for the mistake then hope to punish it in their own last third.
Against poorer teams though, who are happy to surrender possessions for territory they stutter. I said a while ago, West Brom, Watford, Leicester and Sunderland would all be very hard games for them. All of those sides will press Liverpool, happily hit the ball longer and counter attack. 2 games in and they look unable to respond.
This is what underpins Klopps ridiculous behaviour last week with Pulis. In that moment his whole football strategy had been found out. Instead of trying to outwit Pulis he reduced it down to a slanging match. His post match celebrations are indicative of a man on edge, rattled and slowly growing to be out of his depth.
The difficulty is now, is the whole league have witnessed with newcastle, West Brom and Watford 3 poor performances and a clear way to outdo them. I thought it would take a few months to be found out but it's taken a few matches.
Unlike Dortmund they don't really have the personnel to play that way. His goalkeepers don't dominate the box. His centre backs make mistakes from often innocuous punts forward and concentration errors. Outside of Henderson there midfield lacks mobility. Up front none of his strikers are workhorses (outside of Ings). Bennett and storage are like fish out of water.
Alongside all of it they have a squad who can't cope with the demands of the additional effort. Hence why they are plagued with injuries. I could see this guy having a breakdown quite soon, Rodgers style and being back at Munich before too long.
