Bruce Grobbelaar: Simon Mignolet is worse than Dracula... Liverpool need a new keeper
.....edit
Bruce Grobbelaar insists that Brendan Rodgers' faith in goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, not the sale of Luis Suarez, is at the heart of Liverpool's problems this season.
Liverpool conceded 50 goals in the Barclays Premier League last season as they finished second, two points behind Manchester City who let in 13 goals fewer.
Those defensive woes have continued this season with 18 goals already conceded by Mignolet in 12 games and Grobbelaar - one of the greatest goalkeepers ever to play for Liverpool - told BBC Sport that the Belgian is the problem.
The Zimbabwean said: 'Any team that lets in 50 goals should never be in second position in the first place. That was masked and brushed over by the brilliance of Suarez and [Daniel] Sturridge scoring so many goals.'
Grobbelaar added: 'You've got to shore up at the back, get yourself someone in goal that can only let in 30 goals a season, or less than 30 goals a season.'
Asked if he thought Mignolet - who Rodgers signed from Sunderland two years ago - was the problem, Grobbelaar responded: 'I've always said that. I've said that he doesn't command his area.'
He went on: 'I have likened him worse than Dracula, because at least Dracula comes out of his coffin now and then. He seems to stay on his line and that's it........

I love it when their own turn on them....sweet.

Id much rather they finished 3rd and dropped into the Europa league, Rodgers has proved he can't cope with 3 games in a week and neither can players like Sturridge and Gerrard. Without European football they'll have a better chance of finishing above us in the league again like last year.
A good point which I hadn't considered. The obvious downside being the inevitable controversial defeat to them in the semi finals.

I think FIFA should give special dispensation and allow the RS to start all those 18 at kick off - it's probably the only way they will get anything out of the game

Ballotelli out injured is he!

That's absolute rubbish. He's had to play in front of incapable centre halves and terrible full backs, as well as Slippy G 'protecting' the defence and Sterling giving the ball away every 4 minutes. They do love an easy target these ex-reds.

Given how much they were doing everyones head in last year without actually winning anything I personally want them to fail at every given opportunity possible.
Only since last season mate ? Im 60 now and have never wanted them to win anything in my life. Even why the midwife smacked my arse because I was laughing about them being relegated.

Much as it pains me, I tend to agree. Their delusion would balloon as well. Just pray they get a tough opponent though. And that Brenda isnt given a wad of cash in January and actually spends it well. Law of averages say it will happen at some point.
I want them to finish second in the group. It's their most likely route out of europe. It gets them a group winner in the next round, stops them entering the Europa and keeps old Brenny in a job longer

Nope.

I want full meltdown. Only 6 months ago the whole club and its fans thought they were on their way to places they havent been for decades. Whilst losing the league hurt them, they were loving footy life on a whole, money available to push them on again, linked with the best players around, Rodgers signing a new contract, back in europes elite competition ' where they belong ', they couldnt wait to get the new season underway.

What. An. Absolute. Mess they are currently in now. What the Fffff has happened? .... and its ace. Everyone associated with that club, including the media, has well and truly piped down. Like the way their title bid failed last season; you couldnt make this up right now.

Players refusing to go there, the hundreds of millions available being spent on nobody's, loss of form, laughable mistakes, unrest behind the scenes, former players pointing the finger, their manager shiiting through the eye of a needle, the media booting them up the arse, unable to score goals, bottom half of the league with 1 win (league cup) in nearly 2 months. its marvelous !!

I dont want them to go through. I want them rock bottom of that group. The very competition in which they thought they belonged. Bottom please !
