They won't get rid of him anytime soon, they'd need to go on a 10 losing streak before he got the bullet seeing as they've just handed him a 4 year deal in the summer and last year Suarez got them to second.

And thank funk is all I can say, the longer he's their the funnier it will get.

I don't know about that, really. They lose by two or more goals today and Basel gets a result and the Turds are out of Europe altogether. Given what FSG has allowed Gnashers to spend, only to see them become a CL afterthought won't go down too well in Beantown. My guess is they'll move to stop the bleeding sooner rather than later, lest they fall even farther behind in a quest for a Europa League spot next season (and I'm not having it that they'll win the League Cup).

They only have to lose 1-0 to be in trouble - and lose the head-to-head with Ludo (on away goals).

Anyway as that stands, assuming (let's say) a 1-0 Ludo win and a 1-0 RS win over Basel (who lose to Real as well) they all finish on 6 points with the goal differences in their head-to-heads as follows

Basel 5-2, RS 3-3, Ludo 3-6

Should they win tonight (Basel also on 6 if they lose too, Ludo eliminated and last) they still need to beat Basel to finish 2nd.

If Ludo win 2-0 (say) and we assume that Basel and Ludo both lose to Real this leaves the table before Liverpool play Basel as follows

Basel 5-1 6
Ludo 4-6 6
Liverpool 2-4 3

Meaning that Liverpool would need to beat Basel by 3 clear goals to finish 2nd.

Lot's of ifs and buts there, but if I understand it correctly, you're saying they're garbage?

I was giving the clearest scenario for the Turds finishing fourth in their CL group. I don't want to countenance any scenario that sees them drop into the Europa League.

They could draw tonight and then any win over Basel is required if Basel lose to Real as well
They could lose tonight and need a very good win over Basel if Basel have also lost tonight.

To finish last they pretty much need to lose tonight. A win for Liverpool confines Ludo to last place (Basel 6 (or perhaps more), RS 6, Ludo 3 (eliminated on all tiebreakers even with a miracle win in Real). A win for Ludo puts Liverpool in the mess but they can finish 3rd with a win in the final game.

A draw means they beat Ludo on head-to-head (barring some miracle where Ludo get more points at Real than Liverpool get against Basel - I guess a draw at Real coupled with a Basel win at The Pit would be a nice outcome at a handy 50/1 plus odds).

I understand all that. Again, I'm just referring to them getting knocked right out of Europe.

I'm quite certain they'll win tonight. Sorry to ruin the fun. If there's anything I've learned from their travails in Europe, is when they're a defeat away from being knocked out, they win.
