Lambert would make perfect sense for a club like Hull City, West Ham, Sunderland, Aston Villa etc., teams that need a quick fix and age doesn't matter. They just need a player in that has been around the block and can steady the ship. But a team that has designs on winning the league and setting Europe alight. I wonder if Rodgers has done this whilst the other transfer committee members were away on holiday or locked in the toilet.

This is now all making sense. His first season he tried to play the right kind of football, the tiki taka, easy on the eye togger but didn't quite have the players to pull it off. Changed it to punt and run and hey presto, we're seeing the new Wimbledon. Its beautiful this and its happening before our very eyes.

You are assuming that Lambert is the only signing we are going to make this season. The transfer window has only just opened. I think it would be best to judge things come September.
For only 4 million Lambert offers a good backup option for a relatively cheap price. I can see him featuring regularly in the cup games and coming on as a sub when things are not going our way. Not an exciting signing by any means but then again I expect a few more signings to come yet.
