ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

*King* Kenny in happier times captaining the Queen's Silver Jubilee XI

....and Rushie pays his own special tribute....

Just a load of divvy fans trying to be dead edgy hoping it would boost their ‘scouse not English’ credentials amongst the cult ranks. Half of them are probably from the Home Counties and are singing last night of the proms every other weekend.

Just a completely narcissistic fanbase who have tried to engineer this idea of scouse exceptionalism whilst simultaneously seeking to make absolutely everything about them. ‘We’re dead different and special because everything’s about us’.

I don’t even think it’s particularly anti monarchical because I’d put money on half of them not even booing for any reason other than wanting to be accepted by the kopite massive. Just a load of insecure narcissistic sheep. Teenage lads from down south talking about poverty in Liverpool in the 70s/80s like they lived through it, it’s just embarrassing.
That's the difference between our non scouse supporters and there's, ours instantly understand our humour not matter, where they are from. Their non scouse supporters are weirdos, who are pathetically trying to fit in, it's all so contrived and fake, their banter is horrific, they are genuinely weirdos.

I’ve never met an Everton fan from outside of Liverpool who has tried to pretend that they’re scouse. That’s the difference for me, they support Everton but they’re not on some ridiculous crusade to invent some fake scouse identity.

Brilliantly put. This is exactly how I see it.

This also: and are singing last night of the proms every other weekend.

Some great comments on the last couple of pages. As a southern toffee I’ve always just been accepted at games as a blue because we’re all in this together, a blues a blue.

The kopites seem to think they need a tier system of how much of a super red you are, probably driven by how many weirdos they have who are desperate to be one of the cult and be accepted, and honestly I can see why the more normal fans don’t want to be associated with all that!
