ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Klopp got bailed out in the Anfield derby last season. Blatant pen on Gordon ‘missed’, blatant red on Mane ‘missed’. Lampard has him rattled because he’s not the usual ‘I’m just so privileged to be playing Liverpool’ Everton manager type. Carlo wasn’t either and both have been good enough to match up to the best he has with considerably less.

Lampard has been the first Everton manager I remember who has put up any resistance against their relentless propaganda machine. He called out the Gordon penalty at Anfield even though the he was basically threatened immediately with an FA charge if he mentioned it at all, he corrected the interviewer after this derby who was trying to paint a narrative of Pickford getting plucky Everton a draw after being battered and was straight in with ‘Allison also had to make some big saves’, he was then raising the Van Dijk red card in the post match presser.

He won’t play the media game with that lot and they hate him for it. They want Everton managers to just play into their hands, accept their beating, and then not say anything too uncomfortable about the game in the media afterwards. Lampard’s the opposite, would love it if we won at Anfield this season with Lampard at the helm, he’d be sticking it right up them.

Yes. Agree with all that. Another part of this is the backlash against Lampard. He is doubted and belittled by a lot of the Kopite national media. They are deternined to undermine this manager of ours for handing Klopp a tongue lashing and because they always hated the fact that Lampard completely eclipsed Gerrard in his career.

It's a coordinated effort against Lampard. It's amazing to me that a great player like him with a managerial record that isn't that bad at all and who came in here last season and dragged this club to safety is getting so much stick...amazing, but then you realise what his *sins* have been to hand him that profile.

Not to mention some of the horrendous reffing decisions we had the last 2 years.. where would they finish if Refs actually reffed thier games correctly

Great post that, bang on.

The presenter just looks at them and thinks "wtf, you 2 are on the take here".

It's a red card, no ifs, no buts. Amazing how many times VAR doesn't seem to come to our aid when required but is very quickly used in other instances.

Not worth the moan anyway, after that City handball not given last season that was blatantly obvious to anyone with a brain what the thinking is with some of these decisions and who benefits from them

Funny thing is mate, with the way this Everton team is looking now, I can see a injury time Payback being put on VVD at anfield by someone
