I only watched the 2nd half on Saturday, but one thing I noticed was Madrid getting a few 50/50 ref decisions their way and the Liverpool players were exasperated about it.

They dont realise that's the way every single PL team's fans feel every week when Liverpool play their club.

I thought Madrid would get the rub of the green against them. They are a true European juggernaut and no ref will want to mess with them or their career is over.

I enjoyed that immensely.

They’re shocked by level playing field refereeing. I mean Madrid had a legitimate goal disallowed and Liverpool fans are still complaining about the ref. They live in a world though where goals that are onside by half a yard can be chalked off against them, they can’t concede a penalty and they get given every single 50:50 decision. About 70% of tickets presented by about 62,000 Liverpool fans were fake and whereas 97% of Real Madrid fans had made it to their seats by the original 9pm kick-off time, only 50% of Liverpool supporters had reached their stands by then. Liverpool received an allocation of 19,618 tickets.

I'm thinking of an incident though in the second half where a Liverpool player made a fair challenge on a Madrid player (cant remember the players) and the ref gave the foul for Madrid. The absolute shock on their player's faces was a treasure to behold. That's what every team faces against them in the PL. It was hilarious.

It’s always someone not affiliated with the rs that seems to cause all the bother for them - such a shame that the minority of good honest rs fans are targeted in this way, and are victimised like this, then the police victimise all of them further for just being there in their thousands without a ticket or with a fake one, trying to get into the stadium and the same minority of honest normal rs fans get pepper sprayed or batoned for their trouble - I really don’t understand it…..

And with what had transpired beforehand, how unfortunate for them that it was a French referee, in Paris.

They don't stand on ceremony in France at the best of times, neither in sport nor matters of law and order.

No truck is given to the overt and implied pressure they continuously rely on, with biased officials.

A number of chickens came home to roost for LFC last Saturday.

They should be thankful nobody lost their lives but of course that would be too much to expect.

They have been deprived of firstly a quadruple, and now a treble in the space of a week.

Despite the whitewash, it just hasn't been the best of weeks for them has it? It's been an utter disaster more like.

The police have always had that checkpoint under the flyover whenever I have been there. If you storm through it there is still a few hundred yards to the ground.

Imagine if it weren't and that many fans were able to easily get closer to the ground. There would have been loads more bunking in.
