The revisionists already have them down as outclassing Chelsea twice, regardless of what really happened. Martin Samuel was writing about how Chelsea played in a low block agaisnt Liverpool in the league cup who dominated the ball and chances like they did agaisnt Madrid. Could have sworn I watched Mount and Pulisic Miss about 5 one on ones then Lukaku score a legitimate goal compared to Liverpool’s one set piece attempt.

That is a call that is somewhat beyond beyond the pale: but I get your gist.
Liverpool Football Club has many, many good people supporting them. However there subsists a feral, rabid effluvium about them that stinks the joint out. I am sure, the former I mentioned, are as embarrassed about the latter, as is possible.
The blame lies fairly and squarely with a click-bait driven media which has totally abnegated it's responsibility in delivering truthful, objective commentary.
In a word, their performance has been disgraceful
