That is especially true if you think that Liverpool fans are more problematic than other fans.

I’ve also seen reports of Madrid fans having problems, particularly as they were leaving.

On the way out, it is moody. But frankly anyone who has gone to Paris knows, when the sun goes down, Paris is moody.

If you've been going round all day, acting the knobhead, giving in the biggun in the most obnoxious way, as most Kopites do you're going to get filled in later on. Theres nothing Macron can do about that. It's not the sort of place you go and take the p1ss, unless you are an exceptionally arrogant individual.

today very definitely, had to recharge my phone twice, got a few bites, a couple of half threats, its been beautiful. Love Carlo me. its just been hit for 6 every ball of every over. might change my name to Sachin Lara.

The uncomfortable truth is the heavy handed tactics used by the French plod possibly avoided a mass casualty incident. You could tell by the images on TV that the Liverpool end was completely over-capacity, with many of the fans forced into the stairways. It would have been even worse if the police didn't stand strong, as the sheer number of Liverpool fans who turned up would have completely overwhelmed the stadium staff.

It is high-time, in the year 2022, that a light is shined on that club and its fanbase and it is told some uncomfortable truths about itself. It is obvious they will never reform from within, they've just held a parade on the anniversary of a date where they killed 39 people for god's sake. They must be read the riot act by UEFA, who let them off scot-free for the City bus attack a few years ago. They must be told in no uncertain terms that their behaviour will simply no longer be tolerated.

for that to happen there needs to be media-pressure, but as we know (and discussed earlier) they have too many influential representatives in the media to allow that kind of pressure, at least from the British side.

As you say, UEFA (and European media) are the only ones who can apply the sort of pressure needed to affect positive change within that club's culture. Not sure if they will, unless something worse happens next time.

Ultimately there wasn't evidence of trouble like this in Kyiv or Madrid.

I really hope uefa don’t forget this and never give them an inch going forward, but they almost always let the money win, so I won’t hold me breath.

He is a typical rs - normally ok when not on about footy but completely off the rails when the subject comes up, and especially when talking about the rs - he’s completely blindsided by his affinity with them, and his actions have been nothing short of a disgrace in the aftermath of the final, especially for a sitting mp.

Seems he would fit right in if he crossed the floor of the house, which is really quite sad.
