ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Liverpool need to realise they have to - HAVE TO - be more responsible. That being said, UEFA also encourage fans to go to fan parks - those fan parks stay open all night until the game finishes, they aren't just for people with tickets. So we can't just pin that on Klopp.

That being said, Liverpool and UEFA should have had the nous to have a rule that only people with match tickets were allowed to get anywhere near the stadium. All that takes is better organisation - they only had one checkpoint in operation. Why? They knew loads had gone to Paris, so why not put a checkpoint on outside the station, and then one before the flyover, and then one after it?

That could easily have been done, easily policed and it weeds out those with fakes, or no tickets, or anyone trying to mug people or whatever.

It's a major final, in a very difficult area to police as it is it seems, so why not have a bit of nous and more common sense?

I'll blame the idiots for being idiots and they deserve what they get. But it still boils down to the people in charge not being prepared - I count the clubs in that too.
Yeah agree with this.

People would have been killed. There wasn't room as it was, but they've stated it was 40k turned up with fake tickets. So they're lying
But they haven't stated that at all. I can well believe that 40,000 people turned up at the stadium including the 19,000 legit ticket holders, the rest could easily be made up of fake ticket holders and jibbers.

Can't turn the telly or radio on without them going on about the poor Liverpool fans. I suppose that's help detract from the team's performance in the final.
BBC must be run by the spirit of shankly group these days, absolute love in with them. Main national news headlines on its red button text service was "Liverpool turns red for trophy parade". THEY LOST

Tickets via mobile phone or using NFC in the ticket would significantly reduce the chance of people bunking in on fake tickets as it removes the use of bar-codes.

If LFC requested paper tickets as some suggested, it's negligence on their behalf and those at UEFA for authorising it. This has added to the fiasco.

In terms of fake tickets, I suspect many fans will not have known as they'll have bought a ticket in good faith without knowing it was a duplicate etc.

Liverpool starting using NFC themselves This season to reduce forgeries lol , even the club know they can’t trust the ’liverpool family’

I'm not at all. I'm just not desperate to be so bitter until the day I die that I can't see the wood for the trees.

Are people who had fake tickets and tried to or succeeded in getting in for free a problem? Absolutely.

Are they responsible for the dreadful and dangerous organisation and policing? No.

Was there 40,000 of them at the ground? Absolutely no chance.
Was the 'bunking in/blag tickets' a contributing factor, bearing in mind the frustrations and rising tempers of those locked outside as a consequence?
2,700 was reported as being eligible for compensation, so you can accept that's 2,700 who got in illegally? Then add near enough the same amount to double up on seats and fill the staircases? Then factor in those who had tried, once, twice, a few times, unsuccesfully, and ended up outside or in the fan zone and the numbers start to really creep up.
These are numbers the police, already trigger happy, were dealing with.
Said before the place would have been a tinderbox. Add in the pre match briefing from Klopp inviting all and sundry, plus, I'm guessing, in the briefing to police the past behaviour of r/s, in particular one, but not exclusively, and you know or expect it to go off.
