ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I'm not at all. I'm just not desperate to be so bitter until the day I die that I can't see the wood for the trees.

Are people who had fake tickets and tried to or succeeded in getting in for free a problem? Absolutely.

Are they responsible for the dreadful and dangerous organisation and policing? No.

Was there 40,000 of them at the ground? Absolutely no chance.

There is blame to be shared around. But people who tried, or succeeded, in getting in without a legit ticket, are responsible for their own actions and have certainly made the job for security a lot harder.

2900 breached the initial perimeter with fake tickets.

40,000 attempts to enter the stadium with fakes/no tickets in total.

They’ll be rounding on the main number but it’s absolutely correct, not to mention the amount of people who were trying to gain entry after having their legit tickets stolen by fellow reds around the ground.

Much of the blame lies with Klopp, a throwaway comment by him (and he knew what he was doing) has led to a chain of events where they’ve once again shamed the country/city.

Ultimately, the best possible outcome of all of this is that Super League finally happens and we can wash our hands of them whilst they go and play Benfica 5 times a season.

Shame there isnt some scab-league side in Siberia. kick some of these right in the gulags.

I just hope that the authorities in uk and France plan to use all cctv available, and start identifying and issuing travel bans to as many RS troublemakers as possible. Didn’t the uk police use to send a few undercover officers to travel amongst fans, during big events like this, to gather information in case of incidents. Mind you were talking about the same police force who didn’t convict one person after the city bus trashing, despite a mountain of evidence!

Absolutely agree.

Doesn't excuse the rest of the shambles or the lying though, and they are lying, because 40k people did not go the stadium without tickets, which is what they've suggested.

This is the same country and police force that tear gassed Evertonians in Lille for standing in a square.

An aggressive and adversarial manager , who has a history of egging people on to travel, without tickets.

A Media that is supine and terrified of any perceived slight towards the Cult.

A fan-customer base with a record for causing murder and mayhem.

Add a police force renowned for their 'robust' handling of events.

No one should be surprised how it all unfolded on Saturday night.

Given the memory of Hillsborough disaster, the authorities need to go after the ticket forgers and throw the book at them.

Fans were always going to chase tickets, wherever they could get them, it’s not their fault they were sold forgeries. UEFA are also at fault. They create a black market themselves by selling their own allocated tickets.

There were also reports of thecUEFA digital ticketvsystem not working properly and needing several attempts to scan valid tickets.

Perhaps tickets need to be sold to named individual.

You have just absolved them there!

Was the policing that poor? Tear gas people so they don't rush the stadium and cause a problem?

Their desperation to be at the ground regardless of if they had legit reasons to be there or not is the catalyst. Without that nothing else is an issue.

It's got nothing to do with being bitter, it's just calling it how I see it (doesn't mean I am right or anything).

If there is any bitterness from me it comes from taking pops at the French rather than anything RS related.
Hang on, I have not absolved them. They are to blame for their own stupid actions.

But all the government have said that the fake tickets did was cause the bottleneck, which is why they then removed the checks (this is as per their statement today).

The fake tickets didn't result in police tear gassing people, according to the French government. And there's videos that clearly show people simply scanning tickets and then getting pepper sprayed as they walk in through the turnstiles.

There's no defence of that.
