ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I think he did, he’s typical rs, can’t take them getting beat.

As with most rs, away from footy he is a sound decent bloke with my kind of socialist values at heart.

Once you get him talking about football and his team/club in particular, rationality and logical thinking go out the window and he spouts just as much crap as the average rs in the street do - they can’t help themselves.
Sounds like a typical Kilkenny Hurling fan. I have lived here for over 32 years. Wonderful city and county, gorgeous old buildings, scenery, pubs and restaurants, great history, lovely friendly people until........the topic of hurling comes up.

Jekyll and Hyde has nothing on the change that comes over them! The claws come out immediately - they are not nicknamed the Cats for nothing!! Similar attitude of entitlement as rs to success, and very poor losers.

I have learnt to avoid raising the subject in order to ensure peaceful conversations!

Pep was right UK media is full of pro-Liverpool.

Journos who speak out get railroaded instantly. You can't even have a discussion with fans over it without dragging up one of the darkest days in football to save their "argument"

It's insulting to Hillsborough victims and families.

The narrative is British fans get done over but NOT ONE paper, TV or Journo has went well if it happened to Liverpool supporters perhaps it happened to Real Madrid fans?

EXACTLY!

UEFA/FA issued X amount of tickets
Fans created fake tickets
NO ticketed fans to go along against the official line
Dïckheads with fake tickets turn up
Police have none of it so shut it down
Blame UEFA/FA/Police but not their own
Bring up Hillsborough so end of argument tho by now none of their "supporters" have ANY connection to it bar through the club
Rinse and Repeat over and over again

ITS THE CIRCLE OF REDSHÏTE

Just how many kopite hanger on celebs were there in Paris? Twitter seems overrun with them going on about how bad it was. Somewhere between Armageddon and The Somme according to most of them.
No wonder ordinary match going fans can’t get tickets for these games.
“I finally managed to get into the stadium after hours of hostility outside, only to be told my seat had been reserved for the spirit of Cilla Black.”

Sorry mate, I'm not having that. I don't have any clue what happened, so haven't made any comment, but you can not be serious when you suggest that criminals shouldn't be held liable for their crimes because it is the police's job to stop them.
You can not possibly be suggesting that with a straight face.
quite.

The cover up we are witnessing right before our eyes is truly astonishing, but not at all surprising.

From the bizarre, and quite frankly racist, blaming of the trouble on local French/African youths perpetuated by Sky Sports, to the complete ignorance of all the ticketless supporters who turned up at the request of the Liverpool manager and the shocking behaviour that has been captured and shared through countless social media videos - we are seeing an absolutely shameful attempt to dress this whole farce up by the swarm of Kopites who have infested every single outlet of the press.

The 'profession' of Sports Journalism now has to be the most pointless jobs around. It was circulated on social media pre-match that there were blag tickets going around, did one single journalist ever think to do their actual job and investigate it a little and warn unsuspecting supporters to only buy tickets from verified sources? Of course not. And how many fans showed up with tickets that were fake, completely unbeknownst to them, and have now been scammed out of possibly thousands of pounds.

The uncomfortable truth is the heavy handed tactics used by the French plod possibly avoided a mass casualty incident. You could tell by the images on TV that the Liverpool end was completely over-capacity, with many of the fans forced into the stairways. It would have been even worse if the police didn't stand strong, as the sheer number of Liverpool fans who turned up would have completely overwhelmed the stadium staff.

It is high-time, in the year 2022, that a light is shined on that club and its fanbase and it is told some uncomfortable truths about itself. It is obvious they will never reform from within, they've just held a parade on the anniversary of a date where they killed 39 people for god's sake. They must be read the riot act by UEFA, who let them off scot-free for the City bus attack a few years ago. They must be told in no uncertain terms that their behaviour will simply no longer be tolerated.

Best behaved fans in the world according to the TV this morning. They were all jolly party people yesterday as they always are? BBC also brought in that top Scouser Jimmy 'I knew John Lennon' Tarbuck, to tell us how great they are.

We are being told that not other fan base is like them (They got that right) We are told that no other fan base would celebrate so much even when their team has lost a final. Only reds fans celebrate when they did not win (ignoring the two trophies on the bus) They seem to have forgot events at another club in the city where fans turned up game after game to support their team during a relegation battle, and how these same fans celebrated their survival (won nothing) on the pitch. But then again, they seem to have forgotten that this city has more than one team.

We know how our fans would react in a relegation battle, we have witnessed it. Our fans were incredible, yet they get no respect from the media for it. In fact, we got abuse for celebrating (with our players) on a football pitch. We had Klopp saying it was dangerous, and RS fans calling for us to be docked points for it so we would be relegated. This, from those loveable besty fans in der werld lar. Laughable is not the word. Imagine if the tables were turned? would we see their fans react the same we did to a relegation fight? We have no idea? but I would guess a lot of them would be wearing Man City shirts by then anyway.

UTFT They cannot get rid of us

It was the amount of fakes though. Like I said they all thought they could steal their own fans seats. They couldn’t care less.
How do we know the exact numbers? We don't...

UEFA and the French authorities went straight to 'blame the fans/British'. When their disorganisation was clearly a big part of the problem.

I'm not saying Liverpool fans were blameless.

But again, no problems in the Madrid end. You have to ask why they claim they were locked out with legal tickets yet there were people sitting in the walkways of their seating because all their seating was occupied.
I'm sure some were locked out with legal tickets...

UEFA's initial claim was that fans turned up late to the game with fake tickets. This was proven to be a lie, because the issues started 2 hours before KO.

Robertson getting criticism from Scotland fans for boozing on the coach ahead of training.

When will people get the memo, Liverpool players past and present will always put the cult before anything else. Don’t hire them as managers, don’t put them in your internationals team, don’t take transfers from them. They’ll never give 100% for you, it’s been proven time and time again. One reason Southgate has had success with England is he benched most of the Liverpool players who underperformed tournament after tournament and skipped most international breaks, and brought in players who wanted to play for their country.

I'm going to see Liam Gallagher at Knebworth on Friday. There'll be close to 100,000 people going.

The festival organisers, the security, are responsible for the safety of everyone there, by ensuring it's organised and as safe as possible.

yes, that includes ensuring any criminal/dangerous behaviour is caught out, so they have to have ample amount of security and checks etc.

That's what UEFA/the authorities did not have in place - they had 6-8 stewards on one checkpoint before the stadium, to deal with approx 20,000 legitimate tickets and however many more who tried to sneak in... So they have to take the blame for that.
