ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

?

And Klopp has mastered the art of pena shoot outs too.

According to this psychologist from….wait for it….Norway.

I saw this on twitter which I think used videos or images of Tuchel panicking and believed it made a difference.

the Southgate comparison and his very deliberate choice of penalty takers cost him silverware but that was less important.

If it’s not about them they hate it. The vast majority of them don’t know why they’re booing but they’ll go along with it.
That's exactly what it is. Politics doesn't come into it.

They've been to Wembley finals many times between the 1980s and the Klopp era and NOT booed the national anthem. It seemed to come back into fashion once they'd won the 2019 Champions League for no obvious reason other than to say "we're relevant again, how can we make ourselves the centre of attention?".

You look at crowd shots of their end and it's a diverse mix of people, most of whom probably have no connection to the city. They have fewer than 6,000 season ticket holders with a Liverpool postcode. They booed Abide With Me even though the club re-released it to mark the 33rd anniversary of Hillsborough just the other week. That's how stupid, ignorant and uninformed they are.

In my opinion therefore, booing Abide With Me and the national anthem had nothing to do with a principled stance and everything to do with a narcissistic cult of self-centred weirdos setting out to make it all about them.

The Guardian on Liverpool's habit of winning:

An overall penalty-shootout success rate of 73.08% cannot possibly be a coincidence, and instead speaks volumes about Liverpool’s mythology and self-mythologising – veins into which Jürgen Klopp has tapped so astutely. Klopp has given those who play for him confidence, entitlement and aggression, their sense of history and destiny bordering on the messianic.
Charles Manson style messianic?

I'll concede that point.

The BBC piece about the booing is their usual tripe. Has Klopp's mealy-mouthed comments about 'they must have a reason' and how the fans are mostly salt of the earth, bestest ever etc, and then some utter claptrap from an Anfield Wrap goon spouting about 'der foodbanks laaaa'. He "challenges' those complaining about it to come up to Liverpool and effectively witness the squalor first hand! The city really needs ambassadors like that, doesn't it.

Oh, of course neither he nor Klopp are asked about Abide With Me at all. Because they would squirm without a defence...
What squalor? Compared with some parts of this country, and parts of the capital in particular, Liverpool is a tidy city. Nothing like putting your own home down.

That Marhez penalty miss could be a blessing in disguise. He scores it and they would have rested players for the last 2 games.

Now with a final in 11 days he has no choice but to put out a near full strength team.

Tone deaf fanbase. Also, the choir singing Abide With Me were a group from the Afro Caribbean community suffering from sickle cell anaemia. Nice behaviour View attachment 165968

You ask any Liverpool fan why they booed the national anthem and there is a very good chance it will either be gibberish or silence, ask them why they booed Abide With Me and it will definitely either be gibberish or silence.

They are a cult, if one person does something they follow with no questions asked. They are a social experiment gone bad.
