Tbf, spurs did a number on city too.TBH, two weeks ago if you had this scenario final day of the season you'd choose it.
Liverpool blew it against Spurs, of all teams.
City will beat Villa by 2 or 3.
Yes, but Liverpool cracked on the run in.Tbf, spurs did a number on city too.
They've not got the SportPesa cup though. Money can't buy that (you need 50 tokens collected from boxes of Sugar Puffs). It's crap though isn't it? We're in a relegation battle and they're winning more trophies. Defo an argument to be made for us having the worst rivalry in world football apart from Espanyol against Barcelona.
However, there is the thing of them now being too big to fail. Even in their really terrible era, they only went 8th. They're media darlings, so they'll never be allowed to truly fail. Just look at the Mancs and Arsenal. They've both been terrible in recent years, but they're never allowed to drop into actual danger. They make too much money for the league.Nothing is forever, at some point, they’ll get sick of Klopp, one or two players get older or demand a move, they get a raft of injuries due to playing too many games. Suddenly everyone smells blood and figures them out.
As we saw with Evertons season there is not a lot seperating the bottom 10 in the league. A few wins is the difference between getting relegated and being mid table.
I would not put it past any of the teams in the top half to get relegated in the next 10 years. We went from being comfortable in mid table to a relegation fight within 2 months. We’re almost out of it and it’s good experience but if it can happen to us it can happen to any club.
The media love them, probably because they're sick of covering City. But the media's always loved them because they buy into their myths. I don't buy the thing about them being "2nd best" though - nobody remembers who was the 'best' if you lost the final. History is written by the victors, always has been. United were not the best team in 1999, not by a long shot, but nobody remembers that Bayern were so much better, just that United sent on their super-sub and won.How come when any one else wins the FA Cup there’s one article on them, yet when Liverpool win it it’s wall to wall everywhere about how they’ve redefined the game because they won a couple of penalty shoot outs in two finals they were second best in
I’d love Madrid to wipe their eye, genuinely not sure how the media would cope
I’d take winning a cup on pens over losing any day of the week to be fair..
Always been a bottle job Mahrez
This is so preposterous it actually made me laugh. Second in the "Pantheon of Greats" after 1 League title and 1 Champions League. No respect for their own Paisley and Shankly, let alone Clough, Kendall, Guardiola et al. View attachment 165758
Jason Burt - he's their chief football correspondent so he clearly knows his stuff ?Who's written that absolute jarg?
Arsene Wenger, Bertie Mee, Matt Busby and probably some more to add to your list, too. This is so preposterous it actually made me laugh. Also something about "Trent" being youngest player to win the werld famous "Big Six" trophies.Just read a big thing in the guardian about klopp winning ‘all the trophies’ available in the English top flight. Conveniently forgetting the community shield and europa league which he failed at.
Thus proving Pep Guardiola's assertion that the media are all massive Kopites to be 100% correct. This is so preposterous it actually made me laugh.
