A decent post this, the Mitchell and Webb sketch absolutely nailed it with what team they chose to use, with the overusing of we to you, etc.
I mean, I am very guilty of using the term 'we', as most fans (of any sporting team in any sport) are but that is just some weird ingrained term that is used. It doesn't mean anything, it is when you start goading other fans and comparing the 'we' to 'you' that it becomes extremely disturbing. Bellew's answer was spot on, 'I have won the WBC belt, what have YOU won?' I love the 'probably will' comment as well, it is something I have always used, just straight back at them with an observed comment about the situation, no back chat. Usually stops them in their tracks, they don't want reasoned debate, they want back chat and an 'argument'.
In a way it reminds me of a time when I was watched a derby in the Brookhouse, we lost 1 -0 and I was just texting on my phone after the game. My mum had texted me to just simply say that Everton were poor/unlucky or something like that. A Red (didn't know him) randomly came over and said 'What, you crying to your mum', my response was 'It is actually my mum, but she is a West Ham fan so doesn't give a [Poor language removed]', then just looked down and carried on with my reply to my mum. I heard a weak arsed 'fair play' and he was gone. I just don't get that goading, bad winner mentality, to go over to a complete stranger who could have been texting anything to anybody to say that, it is just plain weird.
