ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Seriously? They threw bananas at him? I’ve gooogled that & I‘m not getting any evidence. Please give a link to where/when this happened? Would be much appreciated.

You may also want to read John Barnes book, and he states that bananas were thrown at him by Liverpool fans, for a relatively prolonged period.

Thankfully, much like with EFC supporters, it stopped. However denying it happened does a great disservice to anti-racism, and more broadly to the credibility of history. We cant just erase away bits of history we find inconvenient

I worked in JJB in town when I was a young lad going through college and spent a while talking to Barnes when he came in to buy shoulder pads for his lad who at the time was into rugby, he was a genuinely affable bloke. Always liked him from then on.

bbc breakfast just done an impartial piece on the sports news with ex rs warnock.
the rs were mentioned more than villa and rangers combined!
I saw that.
Thought it was a rather weird piece myself.
Although the whole show this morning has been odd.
The fella presenter is a bit of an odd one.

He's got his head screwed on. He worked out a while ago that you only get asked back to speak and get paid if you talk constantly about the British media's house team.

It's an industry.
