ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The world needs more teams like Brentford; not scared to have a go at this shower and in the end the Bees were unfortunate not to take all the points.

I am going to have some delicious Sugar Puffs in honour of the Brentford Bees; it is all about the honey mummy.

Too many teams far too happy to just oblige to a loss against them as soon as they concede. Good to see Brentford showing them up for what they can be if you just get at them. Teams turning up with their best performances for Ciry and Chelsea then cowering in fear at an average Liverpool team and not laying a glove on them. Here’s hoping we can have a decent 11 fit for Goodison and get after them.

He’s skated by for a long time. Even before his injury last season he was all over the shop leaking three to Leeds and 7 to Villa. Why I’ve never rated him as one of the best is that he’s never anywhere near the danger. The ball is magnetised to the best defenders, but it also means that occasionally they get caught out making mistakes. Saint Virgil never made mistakes because he’s never anywhere near the danger area, he was always out wide or in midfield screaming at Lovren or Matip who are actually having to do the defending. More interested in putting in showy body slams against wingers for no reason or trying to bring it out and getting caught than actually just doing dirty dull defensive work. That’s why for me he’s absolutely nowhere near the likes of Ferdinand Vidic Terry Adams Kompany etc. Nowhere near them. A good centreback yes but the media are making him out as one of the best of all time. Look at how he got out jumped for Brentford’s second goal!

A good centreback who is good on the ball and was quite quick, and attacks an offensive set piece well. That’s all he’s been in my view. Any sort of decent attacking play has always been able to put him on the back foot though and once he is under pressure you find he’s mysteriously never anywhere near the danger area when the balls flying in the back of the net.
I actually thought that about Ferdinand too. When Duncan Ferguson was playing, Ferdinando made sure he moved well away from him. Give me a centreback who can do the physical stuff against a big centreforward or opposite centreback without fuss please, not a showoff who thinks clattering a smaller player makes them the "daddy".

Brentford are doing well. They are no mugs. Good on them. Just hope they are worked out by the time we play them.

Correct. The media silence is deafening. He's looked an utter 'kin pudding this season. Plodding about, positionally poor, not alert to danger, zero goal threat.

The feller is finished - and you can see it written all over his miserable 'kin gob in every game that he knows it too.

As I was reading this I was thinking the same thing, you can tell so much about a player from their reactions to moments on the pitch. With van Dijk he's pleading with referees every single match, he's lost the imperious "shrug decisions off" that he had before.

So he should be, he's playing with no legs ffs, and he's dead. Have some respecto!!!!
My apologies.
For virge
