ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Well done, imagine gloating to fellow blues because they won

...proper annoyed and feeling sick this morning. Certainly not gloating, Matey.

It was @davek who invited me to ‘vault him’ if he was wrong in posting the Reds are well out of the race for 4th and it was all over.

it’s as though we invite it happening, its almost fate. Some posters never learn when it comes to that lot.

The loveables are already starting to talk up how great an achievement it will be if they get CL this season, and the media will drive that narrative along nicely for them.

Nevermind that we were getting the words "dynasty" and "were back on our perch" lobbed at us from the lurkers, like bricks at an opposition's team bus visiting anfield, not too log ago.

We also had all the media garbage about this team being unstoppable and winning everything in sight for the foreseeable, from sourness and spitty.

Look a bit silly now, don't you lurkers?!

In reality, all it took was a mackem with little arms and strong legs to bring them back down to earth with a bump.

....this thread is a bit quieter tonight considering @davek & quite a few others said the ‘top4 was over’ just days ago. The Reds didn’t stand a chance, it’s all over.

When I said it’s far from over, @davek said ‘vault me’, they have no chance. Well Dave?

The Reds are still a good side & i expected them to win tonight because they had To. RAWK retribution to GOT premature evaluation, some posters never learn.

It was a good win last night for them. I fancied the draw, but United looked shattered. What couldn't have been forecast was Chelsea losing to Arsenal, which is now the curveball.

I still make them outsider for those spots. WInning 3 games in a row, against sides they have struggled with this season is not going to be easy. I'd rather have the points cushion rather than the games in hand.

United will be disappointed they've let that Liverpool team, and a striker as poor as Firmino get 2 goals.

They've got the 3rd biggest wage bill in world football and are celebrating the 4th place trophy.

Spot on and anyone grounded in reality with a modicum of intelligence knows this as truth.

Sadly, it will be portrayed as massive achievement for them, the script is already being penned by sly sports, the BBC etc.

There will be nothing about world transfer record fees for keepers and defenders, massive wages for bang average players.

The whole story will read like a mills and boon novel, with most of their signings having joined for free and play for nothing but the love of the franchise.

We all know their history with airbrushing facts and reality from the world's consciousness - this will end up the same

The more that agenda is pushed the better, as it will convince the owners that everything is rosy. Then when Wijnaldum leaves, Henderson's legs have gone, Milner is finished, Salah's pace starts to go, Van Dijk comes back half the player he was, Mane asks for a transfer etc they will be in trouble, the same way Man Utd were when they didn't invest for a few years.

5th by a whisker and the same thought process please!
