Get your violins out for piscan Tony ....
The moment it was confirmed for me about that club was reading the Chairman of LFC John Smith's notes to the board and shareholders going into the 1985/86 season: one oblique reference to what had gone on in Heysel, something like "after a trying period for the club" (I posted it here a few years back verbatim). Of course, John Smith was the originator of the Chelsea / NF cover up for Heysel. This is a stain on their history but they’ve genuinely never cared for a single second since their inception about being a ‘proper’ club. Forcing us out of Anfield, Heysel, the airbrushing of Heysel, going all in with Hicks and Gillet, 100 year lease on Stanley park, residential properties in Anfield systematically devalued, supporting Suarez’s racism, supporting their own fan’s hooligans behaviour, trying to commercialise Hillsborough, not doing a single beneficial thing for the community they reside in, furloughing their staff.
The list goes on and on, they’ve never hesitated to do anything, no matter how abhorrent, if they thought it would benefit themselves for a single second. That is the fundamental difference between Everton and Liverpool and always has been.
They are an utter cesspit of an organisation not fit for this city.
Both 'offers'...the twitish (but with a different vowel) twelve and new 36 team CL. Have points they will drop if they have to. They will accept and all combinations of both, plus any new additions, that lets them come out with what they basically want. That Ian Doyle fella is a snide. Surly , disingenuous toss pot. Wouldn’t surprise me if the mob of those “journalists” signed NDAs ages ago about all this. It’s too big just to be a shock.
Said it in another thread, something well off about it all and I’d be surprised if it all went ahead and there wasn’t something else going on yet to be revealed publicly. As for punishment, I can’t see them being thrown out, I’m a cynic admittedly
Agreed. It's nuts mate. My eldest son recently asked what I watched on the internet when I was young. Blew his mind that the internet hadn't been invented when I was a kid. Blew his mind when I told him games consoles weren't around when I was a kid. Blew his mind when I told him PC's weren't around when I was a kid. Blew his mind when I told him that I had to walk a few miles just to see if my mate wanted to play out as we didn't have phones. Moral of the story.........his mind was blown!Different world now isn’t it? I’m pretty sure it’s not a better one too.
That’s the vibe I’m getting with most clubs and I suspect that’ll be part of the reasoning behind all of this.Kopite Civil War Incoming!!!
Loads of plastic fans are in favour and locals aren't happy. What a time to be alive
Local fans are now 'legacy' fans, it seems. That’s the vibe I’m getting with most clubs and I suspect that’ll be part of the reasoning behind all of this.
My kopite mates are furious with this and I follow a couple of local to Manchester Man City fan accounts on Twitter and they are also up in arms about this.
The ones who seem to be ok with it all are the non domestic fans. The glory hunters so to speak (“I support Chelsea and Real Madrid” in their profiles etc.)
The yanks know, that these days, those people make up the majority and are prepared to sacrifice their hometown support in favour of the more lucrative global market.
It is in a very literal sense, an attempt to tear out the very soul of the sport.
They’ll sell out stadiums in New York, Dubai, Beijing & Delhi and you won’t get any fans protesting there either...
