ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Splitting heirs in all honesty mate.
Winning the English PL is impressive.

Don’t get me wrong, Leicester winning it was far more impressive, as they didn’t spend 140m on a goalkeeper and a defender to do it, but you begrudgingly have to give them a bit of credit, especially as they would have won it the season before comfortably in a normal year without that outstanding Man City side.

So 1st and 2nd and a CL isn’t a bad return over 3 years.
Would it be as good as winning the PL 3 years out of 4 as well as a domestic treble in that timeframe

I’ve had a quick look for your views.
Can see plenty of your posts about City, United and Spurs.
Plenty of posts about our new ground.
Millions of posts in this thread and yet only a handful about our players in the Everton forum.

Each to their own I suppose.
He is good I agree
Just seems to temper his posts enough to avoid detection
The meltdown will inevitability happen though
It always does

Ifs, buts, maybes, none of it matters. If Benzema and Vinicius had scored their sitters then it would’ve been 5-1 on aggregate. We can only deal in the facts of the matter, and the facts are that they got knocked out in the quarter finals. Also you predicted they’d win the away leg 3-0.

Who cares? Aren’t you just happy they’re out? So what if I thought they’d win then they didn’t?

It's a long tradition....

Imagine if they really do have a parade for winning the League. The ultimate in cringe if it does.
I was reminded of their trophy celebrations when they got their hands on it at Anfield when we were shown the Olympic torch being taken through Japan.
The commentator showing the girl, big beaming smile on her face waving to non existant spectators.

Fine margins. That Salah chance goes in and they more than likely blow Madrid away in the first half. It doesn’t though and it was Madrid’s night. Let’s hope a few teams can blunt them in the last 7 games and they can enjoy europa league football next season.

They really don't mate. Real Madrid just go up the other end and score, as they threatened to all night. Without making any effort to score, Madrid made the best 2 chances of the game, and came the closest to scoring. That was in 2nd gear, making no effort to get a goal.

Had they wanted too, they would have stuck 2 or 3 past Liverpool in quick succession like they did in the 1st leg,

I know it's not a vintage Madrid team, in fact it's one of the worst in living memory, missing all their key players, but they are still miles too good for a peak Liverpool team.

Liverpool are not blowing anyone away at home this season. It's like 2 goals in open play in 4 months. The game was lost in Madrid.

This article in the Guardian nailed it yesterday:

And this is the thing about Madrid. They’re just so unafraid, so certain of their own version of events. Time and again very, very good players perform up to the top of their range. They will now face Chelsea in another semi‑final – and what a monument this decade-old Madrid generation has become.

Four Champions Leagues, three league titles, six different managers – through it all those grand old meringues have eased up through the gears at the right moment, playing no obvious style or “philosophy”, just a kind of Madrid-ball: high quality, fearless, big personality players doing the right things at the right moments.

This Madrid team was already a superpower before Liverpool’s star began to rise. The same group of players, more or less, has now seen off Liverpool’s own champion generation. They will not be moved.
