ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Not sure who would take any of the front three in a big sale now. Salah might have the olympics then the AFCON, a team will have to pay him over the 200k a week he’s getting at Liverpool for a 29 year old who won’t play all of next season. Mane will have the AFCON as well and is already declining. Firmino is on a huge wage and again the age profile isn’t right.

The only players I can see as saleable assets for them are Allison, Alexander Arnold and Fabinho. I don’t see any top club coming in to take the rest. They’ll probably end up selling Grujic and Origi for 30 mill each or something ridiculous to get out of it but it’s not looking good on paper for them, especially if they don’t get CL.

Salah will go, i don't know if you noticed but he was pretty chatty with some of the Madrid players in the moments up to kick off last night, going up shaking hands with them, none of the others were doing it.

Why would they want him? He’ll cost a huge fee, his wages are astronomical, he might have one or two seasons left at the very top and one of those he won’t be available for periods of it. He also plays the same position as Hazard Vinicius Rodrygo Asensio, the last three all younger than him.

Madrid could buy Mbappe or Haaland and have them for the next decade.

It will be concerning for them that Wijnaldum and Milner started that game. That’s a player who is leaving for nothing at the end of the season and one who will most probably transfer out or retire. Meanwhile 60 mill Keita, 40 mill Oxlade Chamberlain, and 30 mill Thiago sit on the bench.

The fans will scream for a midfielder in the summer but FSG could rightly point out that even if Wijnaldum and Milner leave they still have more than enough players there.

Oh i agree, but it's Madrid and they like to have everyone don't they and by all accounts they don't have Haaland/Mbappe type money without selling first.

You’re right, I just think cash will be king after the pandemic, and a top club won’t be giving their cash to Liverpool for a depreciating asset whilst their competitors steal a march on them for the next big superstar. Perez will want a new Galactico, Laporta will want a new marquee signing at Barca. I don’t think Salah factors into either of them.

I do think one of Salah or Mane of Firmino will go though. We have seen that Jota is basically a more reliable frontman than the ladyboy and even a football novice can see Salah/Mane don't like each other. I think Klopp will change it up a bit but i'm not sure how much, they are heavily linked with that young Camavinga to replace Wijnaldum which tbf would be a very good signing.

To be fair, it was like any standard conversation with any Liverpool fan all jumbled into 1 call, only he’d clearly been at the cooking Sherry beforehand.
