ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

BBC...”Around 400 home fans gathered outside in an attempt to fashion some of the old atmosphere but sadly the only impact they made was to create more negative headlines with a disgraceful attack on the Real Madrid team coach that left the bus damaged. The Spanish giants received an apology from their opponents and Merseyside Police announced an investigation to find those responsible.”.......

With said investigation set to the Benny Hill theme music.

Has he really thought that through, could be any one of these valid reasons:

  1. They were supposed to throw flowers in honour of RM at the coach but they lobbed what was in the other hand...Which happened to be a rock
  2. It was Chelsea
  3. It was windy and it blew it into the bus, when they were just playing catch
  4. It was an Everton fan that wanted to make the perfect club look bad
  5. It was an inside job to blow the window out so they would get a lenient ref
  6. It was Chelsea
  7. It was one person out of a fanbase of 9 billion that causes trouble (each time...)
  8. The rock just went for the window and we couldn't stop it
  9. It was Chelsea
  10. The dog ate my homework and so on....

I mean we all know why UEFA is a joke. This is the 2nd time in 3 years a team playing against LFC has had a bus with players and staff on it en route to a champions league knockout game.

I'm not belittling racism. It's heinous. I fully support any punishments, playing behind closed doors, fines, bans. This is not to belittle that crime. However, this needs to he addressed. And it's only adequately addressed with a ban.

This is so absurd and unacceptable. You can't attempt to physically attack players and that's just ok.

And banning them from next years would be an absolute joke. They need to banned based upon qualification. I don't think, hey, 2 year ban does anything. It needs to be a ban from when you qualify. They should be barred from it for atleast 2, I think that's something UEFA might consider a 1 or 2 year ban.

I think it needs to be 5 and not just a 5 year continuous ban. No, I want it to be based upon when they qualify. I only think it should be applied to that.

If they finish 6 the next 2 to 5 years that's not a punishment.

The club seriously needs to be RIP'd. I don't even understand how players at this point play for them. It's unsafe, it's insulting to humanity. They need to be done.

"Absolutely disgusting!! A couple of complete [Poor language removed] idiots YET AGAIN tarnishing the rest of us!!!"

:hayee:

Let’s be honest, if they’d have won there wouldn’t be a single journo bothered by this just as they weren’t when it happens against City. Most teams don’t have problem controlling their fans but that club has created an issue they now can’t control and the police have been hopeless with them.

King makes it sound like one stone was thrown by one person...

Looked like a few big stones thrown by several people in front of the police.

Second time now after City...there needs to be a punishment.

Anyone remember the old 90s matches in Turkey? Absolutely mental scenes from the fans there with 'Welcome to Hell' banners at Galatasaray.

Seems like the RS have brought that mentality home with them.

Morning lurkers.

Let's see, if just for once, you can keep our great city's name and its people, out of the gutter by not disgracing us yet again by acting like the absolute dangers to society that we all know you are, when "welcoming" the Real team bus to the loft extension later.

I won't be holding me breath....

Hala Madrid!
Well, you tried.
