ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I stopped here:

"can’t be easy when you’re a marauding right-back who suddenly then has to start thinking a little bit more about their movement"

I mean, a top professional footballer having to think about movement that is key to the position they play in, I mean, how can we expect this.

The clue is in the name of the position mate, it says 'back' for a reason. It means that they have to be at the very least OK at defending. I know that the game has evolved but a defender, and that is what he is, still has a responsibility to be good at defending. Otherwise, teams will highlight the weakness to try and win the game*

*I apologise to any lurkers for even considering that teams should ever play against Liverpool and try to win a game by highlighting weaknesses and not rolling over and getting their belly rubbed, while Alexander-Arnold runs down the wing with ease and then comes back to give them a happy ending.

But KDB also has an insane amount of assists and goals. Not to mention taking games by the scruff of the neck and at times winning them single handed.
Not even a remote comparison to be fair.

Well they both do in fairness (33 V 28) over the last three years & that's really my point, there is a clear correlation between players who give the ball away and those who create chances. I just really hate people misusing stats to tell the wrong story. He should be hammered for his dreadful defending, not what he is doing with the ball

Giving the ball away is not a stat to beat people with, its a nuance of the game that should be applauded in reality. If you bring it back to Goodison, we all want to see James take on the risky through ball even if he gives it away 60% of the time

"Football followed suit, and Liverpool were on the end of the rubbish a month or so back – when it was falsely claimed that Alisson and Andy Robertson had a fight in the changing room – and that Jurgen Klopp was about to walk.

And it appears Reds may have had some kind of small revenge on those rumours, by starting a nonsense claim about why Everton’s James Rodriguez is absent!"

Amazing how they managed to twist this story into how they were victims and are now getting their revenge. Absolute psychosis.

I don’t know about that
He was comparing the bestest FB in the whole wide world with the second bestest midfielder in the PL
Thiago is obviously the bestest midfielder in the whole wide world and his idea ball stats back that up

They have just pulled the plug on plans for a UK version in the CSI television series
The planned 'CSI Kopite' was a non-starter as, they all have the same (mutant) dna,
they don't have any dental records, and anyway .. it was the chelsea lot that did it.

"Manchester City last year had a two-year ban from European football overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) despite showing what CAS described as a 'blatant disregard' to UEFA's investigation into alleged FFP breaches.

UEFA had began its investigation into City after German newspaper Der Spiegel published leaked documents in November 2018 alleging City had inflated the value of a sponsorship deal, misleading European football's governing body, something that CAS found no evidence of."

It really hurt The red Echo to print those last words. lol

Did you watch any of the games that he got the record in?

It wasn’t a case of him trying to create chances and being unlucky none of them came off, it was a case of misplacing 5 yard passes, again and again and again and again. More than any other prem player EVER.

There is no way of dressing that stat up

and he looked clueless as to how to stop being turd.
