ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Aguero straight in tomorrow?
perhaps not with Gundogon out; I firmly believe (despite his brilliance) Man City function better without him (KDB)
I think they function efficienlty without Aguero. KDB though is a team player and he brings players into the game. Along with Gundogon, he's the rock on which the great run they're currently on was built.

And there just might be something in what you say.
When KDB is playing he becomes the focal point for everything.
Everyone just passes the ball to him and expects him to work miracles every time.
When he's not playing the likes of Gondogan, Silva, Foden etc get on with it and
create something themselves. Same with Aguero.
Not a bad pair to have your bench though!

Well they wont be in a rush with their form, so I would imagine Pep would love to give him 30 off bench

Please dont confuse this for a "KDB is overrated comment" & agree he is a team player, but I think what happens with him is, when he is on the pitch Silva, Mahrez and gundogon go into their shells and that trying to figure out how to get the ball to KDB rather than whats the best pass.

He is an amazing player and would get into any world eleven, but I just wonder if you could somehow test city over the same 15 games with and without KDB, who would get more points, my money would be on the withouts.

If I was one of the 6000, and I could see the cringey idiots who make video's of themselves online and appopriate the culture that doesn't belong to them, I'd have jibbed it years ago. Gone and watched my local side or whatever.

I couldn't be having some fella from Hampshire, or Norway or whatever making jibes about people living in council houses, or that they were the reason for the success.
I think this is a problem across the world from music, politics to football, people claiming to belong to a group they don't and expecting acceptance within that group. Our fans from other places are loyal blues who follow us through thick and thin. Travelling from down south for a mid week game against Arsenal in the freezing cold, that takes dedication, it ain't glamorous watching Everton at all. Same with supporters from areas outside of where their football club is based, who don't support the top 4. I know a lad from the East Midlands who lives in Liverpool, however he's an avid Celtic fan, because his ma and da were from Glasgow. He goes to all their home games, most away games and the European games as well, sometimes it's not where your from it's where you heart is.

I can just about tolerate Scouse RS who go the game, the ones who don't and just talk rubbish in the pub, I had a mate who went to Brighton on a Tuesday night, went to Exeter on a Tuesday night, they're alright, except when the derby comes up. The divvies who never go the match and hang RS flags outside their window can't really be considered anything other than armchair supporters, they're just the same as sports fans in America, I wouldn't even call them Liverpool fans, because they know nothing about football. The RS from other places are simply intolerable, I can't stand them at all. David Vujanic the ex Copa 90 presenter is a Serb from Knin in Croatia raised in North London, so naturally supports Liverpool, perfectly understandable. The idea that you can simply develop a connection to a team, when you have no connection to the city, when you have no family link to the city or the club is just ridiculous. I didn't live that far away from Anfield growing up and there was a few times when Southern RS who make jibes about Scousers being thieves and leaving their car stuff like that.

There's no unity amongst RS, everyone on here has gone through the rollercoaster ride of supporting Everton, winning games like the Semi Final against United, beating the RS in the cup, winning on penalties against Chelsea and a variety of other games, when we've united as fans. How many times at an Everton match has you found yourself being hugged or hugging the random bloke next to you? We can makes jokes in the pub, on here , and at work about supporting Everton, the RS can't do that, it's why they always fight with one another when they lose, because they have no connection to one another. They're no different from customers at McDonalds, no amount of contrived flag waving, fake Scouse accents and fake Socialism can cover up they are a soulless brand who treat their supporters like customers, who make zero attempt to help the local community. I knew a fella who tried to get Liverpool to send a signed shirt for a lad who had cancer to raise money for charity, they refused on the grounds they'd have to do it for everyone. Everton send a signed shirt and if I can remember correctly Dan Gosling and Rodwell, I might be wrong but we certainly sent 2 of our younger players. Not to mention embracing racism in a way that no other club has in recent years, while at the same time boasting about their international fanbase. They truly are the devils club.

It's a fair point.

I fully expect them to start playing weakened teams in the PL (resting the front 3 - apart from the derby) if City transform their game in hand tomorrow into 3 points.

That win tonight gets them into the quarters and they'll put everything they have into that.

Liverpool? I disagree - I think top 4 will be their priority all the way. If that dies, which it could quickly, you will be right

It's a huge risk them jobbing the race for the top 4. Leicester could implode, to a degree United could.

They remain long shots for the CL. Leipzig look a side missing the star striker they sold last summer. You can see theyve gone backwards this season.

I hope they put all their eggs into the CL basket. They are not getting past PSG, Juventus, Madrid x 2, City, Bayern etc. Should scrape past Leipzig (who United beat about 7-0 didnt they?)

It'll be the owners priority. The manager and players I doubt very much. They look like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders in the PL and cast that off in the CL there tonight.

Should have said 'protect' rather than 'rested': Klopp will defo protect his front 3 at least until the first QF leg is done early April (get Jota back and play one of Salah, Firmino, Mane - keep them on the bench if needed).

They can do that and keep in touch at the very least with the top 4/5.

CL will get their utmost attention.

We’ve been here before. Normal rules for the CL don’t apply to them. A so called top side have just forgotten how to head a straight long ball clear. If they get a decent draw in the quarters they’ll be huge favourites for it .

They've got f.a. chance of beating any them. They could get the SFs though if they face the likes of Dortmund, Chelsea or Seville.
