ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Yeah, it's hard to disagree with any of that.

But as I've said, from a purely footballing point of view, FSG have basically waved the white flag on defending a title. It's not like they're never gonna spend any money again.

Klopp had options though. He's got a lot of valuable assets at his disposal. If he wants to keep all his favourites around at the expense of having an unbalanced squad then he can't really complain.

I'd imagine there's a good few players not happy with the white flag waving though.

FSG added Thiago Jota Minamino and Tsimikas to a squad that had hit 90 plus points two seasons in a row. The only major outgoings were Lallana and Lovren which were both Klopp’s choice. I think they’d expect a lot better than a scrap for top 4 and the manager calling them out in January to pressure them into more spending (which they then did). I don’t see this as FSG waving the white flag, Klopp has just failed to deliver on targets for this season.

Love it too. I hope everyone opens their eyes now. He had everyone fooled, but not us. The toxicity emanating off of that man is acrid!

This line is usually applied to narcissist's, sociopaths and of course psychopaths. And it's true what they say, once you get a glimpse of the real monster that resides behind the mask (even if it's for a split second), it's impossible to ever think of them the same way that they once were.

They spend years tweaking their skill of superficial charm, so that they know just how to manipulate people. But it's just a big con and like all lies, it eventually gets found out.

I mean, FFS, before Ted Bundy got busted, literally everyone he knew described him as being the most charming bloke that they've ever met! lol
He lost it for a split second when the ball boy clapped him, atrocious human being.

Oh they most definitely have waved the white flag.

They were faced with a scenario that was; buy a top class centre back or surrender the title. They opted for the latter.

I'm not arguing that it's not Klopp who has got the balance of the squad wrong. He's messed up badly, but that doesn't change the above facts. They were top of the league on January 1st. 41 days ago. Now they're ten points behind. The players have now thrown the towel in too.

Wonder if his recent behaviour has anything to do with the news. Im not defending him as he can be a complete tool, but he was terrible to an interviewer recently. Reckon the pressure of losing games, being out of the title race and his mothers death caught up with him. If thats the case though he needs to step away for a bit.
I reckon he’ll be leaving the RS soon and going on a sabbatical.

Maybe there’s something in that. But spending 100 million on Koulibaly doesn’t make you beat Newcastle Burnley Brighton Southampton. They couldn’t hit a barn door for about 5 games at one point. I think they looked at the way the season was going and decided it wouldn’t be worth it, the cracks had been showing already despite them being top at the time.

Spot on mate, but I think you'll find liverpool dont spend money, they do it a different way, dont ya know.:hayee:

It will have had everything to do with it.

His mother passed away January 19th I think, so he’s been mourning her and having to deal with everything else on top for a while. I cannot imagine the pain that causes, to be so far away and have to go through this, he of course is incredibly close with his family, and always spoke so fondly of his very protective and loving mother, and of his upgringing.

Yes Kloppo can be a real a rse with the press, becose he doesn’t like them - and rightly so, the English tabloid press are absolute scum, but this is just truly terrible for him, to have to deal with from afar. With the whole covid thing and sepereation from family, I can’t even imgine where his head is at now, and how tough it is for him.

Didn't know his mother had died, terrible for everyone that, he has my sympathy over that.

Sad news of his mum, hope he’s ok

Sad news about his maa that. Probably explains a lot of his behaviour lately. Sad news regardless of who he is.
Sad news indeed and never nice to hear, however he's been an absolute bellend for years so I doubt that's the reason why he's been even more of a bellend recently. He's been snapping at interviewers all season because things on the pitch haven't been going his way.

I agree he is a bell-end but I would say it is the reason he has been more so lately. And understandably so. Imagine not being able to go to your own mums funeral. His head must be up the wall. I know mine would.

You won’t get big fees for 28/29 year olds now. That market has gone

No because his behaviour has been the same since he walked through the door there 5 years ago.
