ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

You like LFC and EFC you say. I notice that you said the rs first. :) That doesn't compute. You have to pick one over the other.;) The crowd of dirt across the park, are our biggest rivals. Do you get all upset and precious, about the anti Everton comments on the rawk site? Or is your self righteous and pompous sense of outrage, only directed towards Everton fans?
I remember him. He ain't no Brighton or Everton supporter.

Can you or any other Irish Blues explain this, because I've never really understood Liverpool's appeal in Ireland, other than proximity and ease to get to Liverpool. But as you say the Irish fans are even worse than the Scousers. For obvious reasons I can understand why there are so many Celtic fans, I can understand why there are so many United supporters in Ireland they've had so many great Irish players. We've had players like Sheedy, Kilbane, Coleman, McCarthy, McGeady, they are just the ones I can think off the top of my head, I'm probably missing a few obvious ones. I can understand why Arsenal would appeal to Irish fans as well. I don't know whether it's just glory hunting or what.

But then, although it's not relevant now so much, Liverpool had strong connections to the Orange Order and Rangers fans certainly view us as being a Catholic club. Some fans on here, I can't comment I wasn't born that Liverpool fans were sectarian up until the 1980s. Also I'm probably overthinking here, but we tend to have more supporters in the North End where people were moved from Scotty Road an Irish enclave , places like Crocky, Noggsy, Dovecot, Canny Farm, Fazakerley, Kirkby, Netherton all have more Blues than in the South End.
RS Irish fans tend to be the bottom feeding sub norms , like in a zombie movie

Successful in the 80s when the football was getting broadcast from the UK and you could pick it up across the East Coast of Ireland and beyond.

They were sitting down on a Saturday evening to watch the RS win pretty much week in week out and latched onto it - it's glory hunting as simple as that.

As @Penno mentioned, the fact they pretty much boycotted Irish players meant nothing to them.

Think that overstated his influence a bit. They continued winning for a while after he got injured.. they coped well with Fabinho dropping back and Jota coming into the side.

As I've said before, they've got bigger issues:

- Mane, arguably their most important player, has been in-out-out of the side and they always seem to struggle without him;
- Jota got injured right in the middle of a purple patch in front of goal;
- Fabinho can't seem to say fit;
- Firminho's & TAA's form has poor;
- Tiago isn't quite the world-class baller they expected him to be this season;
- They're looking a bit tired in general and their bench hasn't been inspiring them.
