ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

All the build up will be about the injuries Liverpool have whilst totally ignoring how many we've got out. We've been missing 5-6 of our main players for the majority of the season so far but the media have barely mentioned it. Liverpool cry babies

Liverpool are the only team to have experienced injuries ever mate. Henderson being taken off as a precaution because he had a tight leg is now getting its own front page article on sky sports.

I was expecting it last season. But the longer they go on stretching the limits, the worse it will be for the health of their players. Klopp brings short term success but could kill your club.

It's a matter of time before the rs fall over now. Who'll risk going for Klopp when he walks? Plenty of desperate clubs out there after Covid- including the very biggest names in football.

It's hatrd to put a date on it. But once it starts to go, it moves quite rapidly. The issue is, even if Henderson/Roberton are expected to play, they will now be having to play 2 games a week for the next 2+ months. The likes of them,Fabinho, Matip, Arnold etc will not be able to stand up to it.

This is bang on. They have gone from having a solid squad to now having what looks wafer thin. They are blessed they have 9 points in their CL group, takes some immediate pressure off, but medium term it's very hard to make a case for them doing well. That said, we have seen the likes of Rashford & many others get a surprise run due to injury and turn out to be very good, they might get lucky with the likes of Williams who looked good for Wales the other night.

I mean I doubt he did, but if he did, why is this praiseworthy conduct? This is essentially cheating and deception, so I'd hope we didn't engage in it.

It's selfish and ruthless, I don't think it's praiseworthy, but it's needed sometimes & frankly it is something we have missed for far to long. I would love us to have a level of sneidness (Probably not a real word) both on and off the pitch. We have been too nice for too long.

I would love to see us in ref's ears, Manager using press conferences etc & managing games & the odd cynical foul to get us through tough periods. We never do

God no - I'm proud of Everton being sporting and don't want to go down the rs cheat route. There is absolutely no glory or honour in winning if you cheat- which is why rs fans HAVE to delude themselves.

I mean on Williams, I'm not sure he did look that good. I am not slating Ireland, but they are in essence a championship level team and he looked comfortable. Thats his level really. When he played in the PL, he's been badly exposed, and it's telling Klopp's preference was to play Milner, a 35 year old midfielder at right back ahed of him.

As for the squad, they are fortunate they didn't manage to move on the players they wanted too. They actually had quite a big squad, but filled with decent players on massive wages. Obviously the more injuries they get, the more pressure it puts on. Matip should really only be played 1 game every two weeks if they want to get him through. Probably the same as Gomes. They've been ran into the ground though by Klopp.

Some of the injuries they are getting are problematic too. Hamstrings are a nightmare to get over, and as you say, medium term really hinder you. I remember Mirallas for us, who went from being top draw to really being a bit of a liability once his hamstring went.

But telling players to deliberately feign injuries is cheating, and it's deception.

Agree with a lot of that; especially forcing hamstrings, it can be a nightmare.
